Admission to a full-time degree course in IT and Software is quite challenging and the competition is quite high. There are entrance examinations being conducted at the national level, state level, and institute level for students to secure a seat in their desired institutes.

The eligibility criteria for appearing for these entrance examinations are as follows.

  • The candidate must have passed their 10+2 board examinations from a recognized board or council in India
  • The candidate must score 50% in their 10+2 board examinations
  • The candidate must have Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects in their 10+2 board examinations. Some institutes and entrance examination criteria also prefer candidates to have Computer Science as a mandatory subject in their 10+2 board examinations.
  • For BCA aspirants, however, having Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics in their 10+2 is not mandatory, rather students from Arts and Commerce backgrounds can apply as well.
