SASTRA Deemed University (SDU Tamil Nadu) is one of the most prestigious educational institutions located in Tamil Nadu. Commonly referred as "Shanmugha Arts, Science, Technology and Research Academy", it was founded in 1984. SDU Tamil Nadu is approved by both UGC and AICTE.
At present SDU Tamil Nadu offers undergraduate courses in: Engineering, Law, Education, Commerce and Fine Arts. Admissions at SDU Tamil Nadu are strictly conducted online. Candidates willing to apply for their undergraduate courses are required to meet all the required eligibility requirements of the stream they are applying for.
A range of scholarships and financial aid is also provided to needy students. Apart from the same merit scholarships are also available.
A dedicated placement cell looks after the employment needs of the students. To deliver a peculiar university experience the SDU Tamil Nadu campus features a huge library well stocked with more than 1,56,400 print books. Students here also have access to e-books covering major subject areas like: Engineering and Technology, Management, Law, Education, Arts, Science, Humanities, and Management. Different laboratories namely: Chemistry labs, Physics Labs, Engineering and Technology labs like Computer labs, Biochemistry labs, Mechanical, Survey labs, English communication labs and many more are part of the campus. The smart classrooms are spacious and air-conditioned that allows students to capture the essence of modern education. Separate hostels for boys and girls with every necessary amenity is provided by the college. Both indoor and outdoor sport facilities are available for students. Additionally separate fully furnished gyms for boys and girls are even present in the vicinity of the campus. A dedicated nursing staff and doctor of the campus addresses all sorts of medical emergency needs that arise. An in house hospital namely: 'Vaidyanatha Arogyasala' also has regular doctors to look after the emergency needs. Furthermore, the campus also takes pride in having three different auditoriums that hosts different cultural programs and events. The cafeteria of SDU Tamil Nadu operates 24X7 to provide hygienic and nutritious food to the students.

Admission Procedure
The SASTRA Deemed University’s admissions are conducted online mode. To apply for their undergraduate degrees like B.Tech, B.Optom, B.A LL.B(Hons), B.B.A LL.B, B.Com LL.B, B.F.A, and others, candidates must meet all the required eligibility requirements of the course for which the candidate is applying. The candidate has to go through the online admission portal (Online Applications section) on the website where they have to register themselves as a new candidate, fill out the application form, upload the required documents and have to submit the application form there for the course in which the candidate is applying for. Apart from that, all students need to pass their 10+2 school leaving test from a recognised board of secondary education. This is a co-ed college, therefore anybody of any gender can apply for the courses in this college.
SDU Tamil Nadu also provides a post-graduate degree M.tech / MBA / M.Sc / MCA and integrated programs. Interested candidates can apply through their official website. For an M.tech degree candidate must qualify for an entrance exam Graduate Aptitude Test of Engineering (GATE) entrance examination. For an MBA degree candidate must qualify for an entrance exam CAT / MAT / XAT / CMAT. SASTRA Deemed University also provides PhD degrees with various specializations, candidate must qualify for an entrance examination GATE / UGC - CSIR / UGC-NET.

The faculties of the SASTRA Deemed University are very supportive and helpful to their students. They are very careful about the whole learning process and provide in-depth knowledge about the different courses.
Placements
There is a specialised placements cell at the SASTRA Deemed University that looks after the needs of the students in employment. In order to prepare students in a better way for the job, SDU Tamil Nadu's placements and training unit is dedicated to developing students' personalities also. Students receive instruction on both interview preparation and professionalism. Scholarships
The SASTRA Deemed University offers two types of scholarships for the students. There is a merit scholarship which is offered if the student is in top 3% in the university, the student is offered two-fifth of a semester fees and if the student is in the top 3% to 10% in the university, student is offered one-fifth of a semester fees and the other scholarship is called Hostel Scholarship.
