IEM Kolkata follows an online admission procedure. The students are firstly required to qualify for the JEE and CET exams after which the admission is strictly on the basis of merit. However, passing your (10+2) board exams from a recognised board is mandatory.
IEM Kolkata even provides scholarships on the basis of merit and the financial background of the students. The placement cell assists the students in securing internships at valuable firms. Focused at instilling strong human values and entrepreneurial skills amongst students, the laboratories are designed in a manner to uplift the practical skill sets of the upcoming generation. The campus also has extensive Language laboratories that are open to all. Furthermore, the classrooms of IEM Kolkata are well equipped with microphones, speakers and smartboards to promote interactive learning. To develop a sense of culture and assist students in getting valuable authentic information the library here consists of 4306 titles and 20235 e-journals that are Nationally and Internationally acclaimed. The digital library is designed to assist students with its huge collection range. Wi-Fi facilities are also available for the students to avail. The canteen of IEM Kolkata is known for serving budget friendly nutritious meals to the students. Separate hostels for boys and girls with basic amenities are available to provide comfortable accommodation for them. Additionally, IEM Kolkata also has its own appointed medical team to help the student and faculty members in case of any medical emergencies. Different fields and courts for cricket, football, basketball and tennis are also present for the students to enjoy their free time. To keep the students physically active the institution has set up a well-equipped and supervised gym. College buses are even available to help students commute easily to the college. Admission Procedure
The admission process of Institute of Engineering and Management, Kolkata is conducted online.The students are required to qualify the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) / West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE) and the Common Entrance Test (MAKAUT CET) conducted by MAKAUT and other entrance exams. The students are required to secure pass marks in their Higher Secondary Examinations from a recognised board for admission to diferent undergraduate courses. The admission is merit based. IEM Kolkata provides Bachelor of Technology (BTech), Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) and Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA). Admission to BTech courses are carried out through West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE) and Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main). For BBA and BCA degrees admissions are conducted through MAKAUT CET.
IEM Kolkata provides postgraduate degrees - Master of Technology (M.Tech), Master of Science (M.Sc), Master of Computer Applications (MCA), Master of Business Administration (MBA) with various specializations. M.Sc and MCA admissions are conducted through MAKAUT CET. Students applying for MBA need to qualify Common Admission Test (CAT), Management Aptitude Test (MAT) and West Bengal Joint Entrance Management Aptitude Test (WBJEMAT).
