Heritage Institute of Technology, Kolkata (HIT Kolkata), an autonomous private engineering college affilaited to MAKAUT, recognized by UGC, approved by AICTE and accredited by NAAC was set up by the Kalyan Bharti Trust, a charitable foundation in the year 2001. HIT Kolkata was started with the aim of making quality technical education available to students in the state of West Bengal.

HIT Kolkata provides a variety of undergraduate and postgraduate courses to its students. Most of the eligible programmes offered by HIT Kolkata are accredited by National Board of Accreditation under Tier-1 Institute. At the undergraduate level, they currently offer B.Tech with a number of different specialisations. The specialisations they offer are Applied Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering, Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Information Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science and Business Systems, Computer Science and Engineering (Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning) and Computer Science and Engineering (Data Science).

HIT Kolkata is affiliated to the Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT). HIT Kolkata and its courses are also approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). The institute is run with the aim to inculcate innovative and critical thinking, professional and entrepreneurial skills, and the requisite leadership skills in its students. To prepare their students for the future, they also have a variety of initiatives that extend beyond academics, including seminars and workshops to give the students a more holistic education.

Admission Procedure

The Heritage Institute of Technology, Kolkata is best known for its B.Tech programmes, which is available in various specialisations. Candidates applying for B.Tech admissions at HIT Kolkata must take the JEE (Joint Entrance Examination) Main or WBJEE (West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination) exam and participate in counselling for final seat allocations. 

Faculty

Teachers of Heritage Institute of Technology, Kolkata are extremely helpful, and the teaching quality in this institute is excellent. They are extremely helpful in clarifying doubts and solving problems, and they provide notes that are far more useful for gaining in-depth knowledge about the courses.

Placements

The Placement Cell of Heritage Institute of Technology, Kolkata works closely with a variety of industry and organisations to place its students. It has already placed a large number of pupils in the workforce. It actively seeks out feedback from organisations and relays it to appropriate departments, which then train students accordingly, raising their hit rate. For students in each stream, the Cell provides orientation programmes, grooming workshops, and mock interview sessions. In addition, the Cell offers a variety of summer internship programmes for students in order to equip them with practical experience and introduce them to the professional world. Every year, top corporate trainers and psychologists provide a rigorous two-month Pre-Placement Training to all eligible students. Summer courses are held each year during the semester break in June.
