Admission Procedure
Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru conducts the admission process under the guidelines of the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE). The students interested in applying at IISc Bengaluru can apply through the official website of the institute. The selection of applicants for the undergraduate degree courses is made according to the merits secured by the students in their 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognised board. The selection of the applicants for the postgraduate degree courses is made according to the merits secured by the candidates in their bachelor's degree course in the relevant subject discipline from a recognised university with a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate along with the merits secured by the applicants in the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) or Common Entrance Examination for Design (CEED). For the doctoral degree courses, the selection of the applicants is made according to the merits secured by the students in their postgraduate degree course in the relevant subject with a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate in the Joint Admission test for Masters (JAM) or Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE).
