The All India Law Entrance Test (AILET) is a national-level law exam administered by National Law University, Delhi (NLU Delhi) for candidates seeking admission to undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) law programs. Admission to the 5-year integrated BA. LL.B (Hons) programs, LL.M programs, and PhD programs are based on the scores or ranks obtained in this examination.
The AILET is primarily concerned with assessing candidates' comprehension and reasoning abilities.
The AILET exam is of an hour and thirty minutes in offline mode and consists of 150 multiple-choice questions. The examination is conducted annually, usually toward the end of the year in December.

Along with the exam notification, the National Law University of Delhi publishes and activates the link for the AILET Application form. Candidates who want to study law at NLU, Delhi must submit their AILET application form online and pay the application fee by the deadline.
Step 1 Visit the official website > Click on the Registration tab’s “Register to apply now” > Create a signup/login by providing the necessary details > Click on the confirm button to register
Step 2 After the completion of registration the candidates need to select the law course for which they want to apply
Step 3 Fill out the application form correctly by providing the mandatory details which include - Religion, Category, Nationality, Examination centre, Address for communication, Education details, Parent’s /Guardian’s details

Step 5 Payment of the Application fee in either online or offline mode
Step 6 After payment of the fee, candidates should go through the application form thoroughly so as to avoid making mistakes, and then submit it
Step 7 For future reference, the candidates are advised to download and take a printout of the application form.
Candidates who wish to enroll at NLU Delhi through AILET should review the website's stated eligibility requirements.
The basic eligibility for the BA. LLB(Hons) course is that the candidates must obtain the minimum required percentage of marks in their 10+2/equivalent examination:
General - 45% marks/equivalent grade
SC/ST category/ Persons with disabilities - 40% marks/equivalent grade
Candidates who are taking the 12th or equivalent qualifying exam or waiting for results are also eligible to apply and take the exam
The basic eligibility for the LL.M course is that the candidates must obtain the minimum required percentage of marks in their LL.B/equivalent degree:
General - 50% marks/equivalent grade
SC/ST category/ Persons with disabilities - 45% marks/equivalent grade
Candidates who are taking the LL.B or equivalent qualifying exam or waiting for results are also eligible to apply and take the exam. However, such individuals' eligibility must be obtained by the cut-off date.

AILET is a national-level entrance exam conducted mainly for admission to law programs at National Law University, Delhi, and a few other institutes in India.
It should be noted that no other entrance exam scores (for example, CLAT) are accepted for admission to NLU, Delhi.

The AILET exam pattern is published and established by the National Law University at the same time as the admission announcement. The AILET exam pattern includes information regarding the question paper's subjects, scoring method, and other elements. Candidates are urged to carefully review the AILET pattern in order to fully comprehend the exam.
The AILET Exam Pattern underwent significant revisions in 2022, and two exam sections—mathematics and legal aptitude—were eliminated. This paper format was also used in the previous year, and it will likely be used in the future AILET 2024.
The AILET exam for the BA LL.B (Hons) course is of an hour and thirty minutes in offline mode and consists of 150 multiple-choice questions worth one mark each divided across three sections - English Language, Current Affairs & GK and Logical Reasoning. For each incorrect answer, 0.25 points will be deducted.
The AILET exam for the LL.M course is of an hour and thirty minutes in offline mode and consists of two sections - Section A & Section B. Section A will have 50 multiple-choice questions in English Language (25 marks) & Legal Reasoning (25 marks) and Section B will consist of ten questions from different brances of Law and the candidate will have to answer any 2, the format is descriptive. However, it is important to note that Section B will be marked only if the candidate has scored a minimum of 50% in each of the parts of Section A. For each incorrect answer in Section A, 0.25 points will be deducted.
The AILET result includes information about the candidate's exam scores, all-India ranking, and the distribution of marks by subject. The AILET results have been officially posted online on - nludelhi.ac.in by the National Law University, Delhi administration on 13 December 2023.
Along with the AILET results, NLU, Delhi also announces the all-India merit list. Using their login details, candidates can obtain their results/scorecards. The candidates are selected for the counseling stage based on their scores in the AILET results.

Candidates are selected for AILET counselling based on their performance on the AILET exam. In the form of counselling invite lists, the names of the shortlisted candidates are made public. After the announcement of the AILET results, the invite list is released shortly after. Candidates who qualify for counselling must register for counselling and upload the necessary paperwork. Merit lists will be made public along with the seat allocation.
Candidates will be able to take admission to the National Law University, Delhi, and pursue the 5-year integrated BA. LL.B(Hons) programs, LL.M programs, and the PhD program are based on their scores or ranks obtained in the AILET exam.
If many candidates receive an equal amount of marks on AILET, the following procedure will be used to break the tie and make admissions:
