Eligibility Criteria for NID DAT 2024
The eligibility requirements for the B.Des program will be released publicly by the National Institute of Design (NID). Before submitting the NID DAT application form, the candidates must verify their eligibility requirements stated by the conducting body.
The following are the details of the eligibility criteria for NID DAT (B.Des):
Age Limit:

Only candidates born on or after 01 July 2003, may apply for admission under the General Category and General EWS for Indian Nationals.

For Indian Nationals in the Reserved Category (Other Backward Class-Non Creamy Layer (OBC-NCL), Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST): Only candidates born on or after 01 July 2000, are eligible to apply for admission.

In the PwD Reserved Category for Indian Nationals, only applicants who were born on or after 01 July 1998, are allowed to apply.

Foreign Nationals in Overseas (Supernumerary) Category: Only candidates born on or after 01 July 2003, are allowed to apply for admission.
Educational Qualification:
The candidates are required to pass in HSC (10+2) examination with any stream (Science/Arts/Commerce) in the academic year 2023-24 from any recognized board of education such as CBSE, IB, ICSE or equivalent.

Age Limit:

Only candidates born on or after 01 July 1992, may apply for admission under the General Category and General EWS for Indian Nationals.

For Indian Nationals in the Reserved Category (Other Backward Class-Non Creamy Layer (OBC-NCL), Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST): Only candidates born on or after 01 July 1989, are eligible to apply for admission.

In the PwD Reserved Category for Indian Nationals, only applicants who were born on or after 01 July 1987, are allowed to apply.

Foreign Nationals in Overseas (Supernumerary) Category: Only candidates born on or after 01 July 1992, are allowed to apply for admission.
Educational Qualification:
4-Years Bachelor's degree with any specialization after 12th standard/4-Years full-time Diploma in Design/Fine Arts/Applied Arts/Architecture/3-Years Bachelor's degree with any specialization after 12th standard, from a recognized University by law in India.
The candidates are required to have passed the Bachelor's Degree examinations at the time of document verification tentatively scheduled on 25 June 2024.
