NID DAT 2024 Application Form
The National Institute of Design (NID) started accepting online applications on 08 September 2023, for the NID Design Aptitude Test (DAT) 2024. 01 December 2023, was the final day to submit an application without paying a late fee. However, applications will be accepted with late fees until 03 December 2023.
How to apply for the NID DAT exam?
Registration
The candidates are first required to register/sign up online with their Programme of Study, Nationality and Category via the official website (https://admissions.nid.edu).
The registration also required the valid contact details (email address and mobile number) of the applying candidates in which they will receive an OTP for validation entering which will help them to proceed with the registration. The candidates will not be able to edit or remove any information or data filled during the registration.
After successful registration, the candidates will be provided with Registered ID and password through mail.
Fill in the details
Next, the candidates are required to log in with the credentials received and proceed with the Application form. The candidates are required to fill the form with valid informations which they can modify when the ‘Window to Edit’ opens except the Programme Applied in, Name of the Candidate, Date of Birth, Registered Mobile Number and Registered Email ID. In case, the candidate changes his/her applied category during the “Window to Edit” period, the applicable additional application form fees will have to be paid by the candidate. However, no refund of excess fees will be made in the case of any category change. Then the candidates are required to click on ‘Save and Proceed’.
For candidates applying in only ‘one’ discipline of M.Des Programme are required to appear in DAT Prelims comprising of the test paper for one discipline only and candidates applying in only ‘two’ disciplines are required to appear in DAT Prelims comprising of two test papers, one for each discipline. The duration for each will be mentioned in the admit card.
Upload Documents
The candidates are required to upload valid documents with proper size and dimensions mention below:

Scanned copy of recent passport sized coloured photograph, signature in JPEG/JPG format with 75KB minimum-100 KB maximum.

The candidates applying with reserved categories are required to provide the scanned image of the original certificate in PDF format with maximum 2 MB in size. PWD (Persons with Disability) category candidates are required to valid Disability Certificate issued by a Competent Medical Authority as per the guidelines of the Government of India (format of which is available on the website https://admissions.nid.edu) along with the Unique Disability Identity Card in PDF format with maximum 2 MB in size.

Overseas category candidates are required to upload the first and last page of their valid passport in JPG/JPEG format, clearly showing all of their personal information. The candidate must ensure that the passport is current (not expired) at the time of applying online.
For certificates that are not in the English/Hindi language, the candidate is required to produce/upload a notarized copy of the certificate in English language along with the original copy of the category certificate.
Pay the Application Fee
After the document upload, the candidates are required to pay the application fees online by Debit/Credit card that does not include any bank transaction charges or convenience fee. To proceed with the payment, the candidates will be asked to verify the details. After this, the candidates will be directed to the payment gateway completing which redirect them to the ‘Print’ section. The candidates will be able to save and print a copy of the Application form after the successful payment.
