NEST 2024 Eligibility Criteria
NEST is an entrance test for admission to the five-year integrated MSc programme in basic sciences given by NISER (National Institute of Science Education and Research) Bhubaneswar and UM-DAE CEBS (University of Mumbai-Department of Atomic Energy Centre for Excellence in Basic Sciences) Mumbai. The following are the NEST eligibility requirements:

Academic Qualification: Students must have completed their class 12 or equivalent examination with at least 60% overall (55% for SC/ST/PWD candidates). Candidates in class 12 or comparable examinations are also eligible to apply, as long as they meet the eligibility conditions at the time of admission.

Age Requirement: Candidates born on or after 1st August 2003 are eligible to apply. The age limit is relaxed by 5 years for SC/ST/Divyangjan students.

Subject Combination: Candidates must have studied Mathematics in the 12th grade. Other compulsory subjects include Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Life sciences. Also, candidates are required to pass the compulsory subjects individually.

Nationality: Indian nationals and OCI/PIO cardholders are eligible to apply for NEST 2024.

Other Requirements: Candidates must have a valid email id and mobile number for communication, and must not have completed or will not be completing three years of a bachelor's degree by the admission deadline.
Note: It is important to note that meeting the eligibility criteria does not guarantee admission to the program. Candidates also need to qualify in the NEST examination and fulfil the admission requirements of the respective institutes.
