MH CET Law 2023 Cut-offs

 

The cutoffs for the MH CET Law are determined by the examination conducting body The  Maharashtra CET Cell. According to the previous year's MH CET Law results a good score can be determined around 100-105 for admission into the prestigious law colleges of Maharashtra. For each of the participating law colleges, the acceptance score is different based on several factors, factors are as follows: 

  • The number of seats offered by the law colleges: Around 11,000 seats in 5-year LLB programmes and about 16,000 seats in 3-year LLB programmes are available at the law schools taking part in MH CET law 2022.

  • College preference of the candidates: The most reputed and preferred colleges of the candidate are subject to higher cutoffs. 

  • Ranking of candidates on the MH CET law 2023 merit list

  • The reservation policy of the participating law colleges: The reservation policy for the examination is based upon certain factors, factors are:

  1. 85% of all seats in all government-sponsored minority institutions, government-sponsored university departments, and government-sponsored programmes will be reserved for people who live in Maharashtra.

  2.  Under the NRI/OCI/PIO quota, 5% of all seats in all government-sponsored minority institutions, government-sponsored university departments, and government-sponsored courses will be reserved for foreign nationals or Indian candidates who also hold foreign nationality.

  3. 10% of the total seats in all government/government-aided university departments/courses and government-aided minority institutions would be set aside for applicants from across the nation.

  4. 51% of all seats in unaided minority institutes would go to minority candidates.

  5. In unaided institutions, there would be no minority quota and students from Maharashtra would be given preference for 65% of the seats.

  6. A total of 20% of the available seats in all the participating unaided institutes will be allocated to NRI/OCI/PIO/foreign candidates, including a 5% quota.

  • The category of the candidate: The seats for the MH CET Law are based upon the reservation criteria of the candidates based upon several factors. The factors are as follows:

  • Children of Ex-Service Personnel category: For the children of defence personnel a reservation of 5% of the seats with a sanctioned intake capacity is based upon the following factors:

  1. Children of retired military personnel who reside in the state of Maharashtra. (Def 1)

  2. Children of Active Service Personnel who reside in the State of Maharashtra. (Def 2)

  3. Children of Active Service Members (Def-3) who are relocated to Maharashtra State but are not residents of that state. 

  4. Who are not residents of Maharashtra but have families stationed there under the terms of the family housing retention policy at the previous duty station for the benefit of the children's education, provided the candidate has taken and completed the SSC (10th Class) and HSC (12th Class) examinations from a Maharashtra school or college.
