GATE 2024 Cut-offs

The GATE cutoff is determined by the participating institutes and is announced after the GATE result is declared. GATE scores are accepted by more than 1000 colleges in India and various international cities such as Bangladesh, Nepal, Singapore, and UAE. Each institute and course may have different cutoff requirements, and candidates can find these details on the official websites of the respective colleges or institutes.

Applicants need to apply for admission to different institutes based on the cutoff scores set by those institutes for their respective courses. Candidates who meet the cutoff criteria of the participating institutes will be eligible to participate in the subsequent admission process.

GATE is a crucial national examination jointly conducted by the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore, and seven Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). Its significance lies in serving as a mandatory qualification for admission and financial assistance in Master of Engineering (ME), Masters in Technology (MTech), and direct PhD programs across various disciplines in Engineering/ Technology/ Architecture and Arts/Science. These opportunities are available at institutions supported by the MoE and other government agencies. Furthermore, GATE qualification holds importance even in certain colleges and institutions that do not offer scholarships, making it an essential requirement for admission.

The GATE scores are widely utilized by Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) during their recruitment processes. Notable organizations such as IOCL, NTPC, and PGCIL consider GATE scores while selecting candidates for employment, highlighting the exam's significance in the job market. Distinguished organizations like Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC), and Power Grid Corporation of India (PGCIL), among others, have been actively considering GATE scores for shortlisting candidates.

An important aspect to note is that the GATE 2023 score remains valid for a period of three years from the date of result announcement. This extended validity allows candidates to explore various academic and job opportunities during this time frame, making the GATE score a valuable asset for their career advancement. The GATE score indeed opens doors to a multitude of academic and job prospects.
