GATE 2025 Application form
The application process for GATE 2025 will be conducted exclusively online through the GATE 2025 website https://gate.iitkgp.ac.in/index.html). The entire process, including filling the application form, pay the necessary application fees, uploading certificates/documents, etc., is to be done online. No hard copies of application forms or documents should be sent.
Candidates need to be familiar with the paper codes, as they are required during both the application and examination processes. As candidates are allowed to appear for one or up to two papers, they should carefully select their choices from the allowed combination of two papers.
It's crucial to avoid making duplicate or triplicate applications for the same paper, as candidates will only be allowed to appear in one session. The remaining duplicate or triplicate applications will be rejected, and no application fee refund will be provided.
During the online application, candidates need to upload their photograph, signature, and category certificate (if applicable). Candidates are required to enter a valid photo identity (ID) number from any of the following: Aadhaar-UID (preferable), Passport, PAN Card, Voter ID, or Driving License. Candidates without any of these identity cards should obtain one before making the application. It is essential to present the same original valid photo ID proof during the examination for verification. Failure to do so will result in disallowance from appearing in the GATE 2025 examination.
How to Fill GATE 2025 Application Form?
Here's a step-by-step guide to the application process:
Registration:

Candidates need to visit the GATE 2025 official website (https://gate.iitkgp.ac.in/index.html) and click on the registration link.

Provide the required information, including Full Name (as per a valid photo ID), a valid email address, and a mobile number.

Choose a strong password for the account, which should be kept secure and confidential.

An Enrollment ID will be provided to the candidate after successful registration. This ID will be used for all future communications.
Filling the Application Form:

Once registered, log in using the Enrolment ID and password.

Fill in personal information such as name, date of birth, parents' names, and contact details. Ensure that the name entered matches the valid photo ID that will be presented during the exam.

Provide an address for communication, including the PIN code.

Enter details about the eligibility degree, college name, and address.

Choose the preferred GATE paper(s) (subjects) for the examination.

Select the desired GATE examination cities for the exam center.

Upload a high-quality photograph of the candidate, adhering to the specified requirements.

Fee Payment:

The application fee can be paid through various electronic payment modes, such as net banking, debit card, credit card, UPI, or wallet payments.

After successful payment, a payment acknowledgment slip will be generated.
Candidates can check the status of their application form on the GATE 2024 website. The status could be Received, under scrutiny, Accepted, Defect status, Status after rectification, or rejected with valid reasons. Once the application is accepted, candidates can download their GATE 2024 Admit Card from the official website.
