CUET 2024 Eligibility Criteria

 

Candidates appearing for the Common University Entrance Test must have the following criteria for eligibility:

  • For admission to bachelor's degree programmes at the Central Universities, students must have completed Class 12 from an accredited board in any subject stream.

  • To be eligible for the CUET the candidates must secure a minimum of 40% marks in aggregate in their 10+2 examinations. For admissions in the B.tech courses, an eligible candidate must secure a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate in PCM or PCB.

  • In terms of Age Criteria, candidates must meet the age requirements (if any) of the universities to which they wish to apply. Admission to universities through CUET (UG) the educational qualification is subject to the respective University's existing policies regarding quota, category, relaxation, reservations, qualification, subject combinations, preferences, and so on.

  • For CUET eligibility a candidate must abide by the following citizenship rule:

  1. The candidate must be a citizen of India.
  2. A constituent subject of Nepal, Bhutan
  3. A Tibetan refugee who arrived in India before January 1, 1962, intending to make India their permanent home and reside there indefinitely.
  4. Pakistanis, Burmese, Sri Lankans, Kenyans, Ugandans, Tanzanians, Zambians, Malawians, Zaireans, Ethiopians, and Vietnamese who moved to India permanently.
  • For the GEN-EWS candidates, the GEN-EWS certificate must be uploaded in the CUET (UG) - 2024 Online Application Form, and it must have been issued on or after January 1, 2024, following the latest Government of India guidelines. If a GEN-EWS candidate fails to submit the GEN-EWS certificate (issued on or after January 1, 2023) when registering online, the candidate must upload a declaration.

  • Following the latest Government of India guidelines, an OBC-NCL certificate must be uploaded for an OBC-NCL candidate in the Online Application Form of CUET (UG) - 2024 that was issued on or after January 1, 2023. If an OBC-NCL candidate fails to upload the OBC-NCL certificate (issued on or after January 1, 2023) when registering online, the candidate must upload a declaration.

  • For candidates belonging to the SC or ST category the SC, ST certificate needs to be uploaded in the Online Application Form of CUET UG - 2024, as per the latest guidelines of the Government of India.

  • Candidates seeking admission to central universities, state universities, and deemed universities must consult the official brochure or prospectus for detailed eligibility criteria for admission to specific courses in specific subjects.
