Rani Mukerji’s Hichki has won the hearts of viewers and critics across the globe, including a standing ovation at the Shanghai International Film Festival. Now, the film will be dubbed in Russian and be released in the country on September 6. Rani’s performance as a teacher who deals with Tourette syndrome will release across 70 screens with the name Ya-Prepod meaning I-Teacher. Director Siddharth P. Malhotra said: “Hichki is an universal film and the response that it is getting in the overseas territories is validating that the film’s subject is an extremely relevant one.” (Bharati K. Dubey)
Jamie Foxx is in talks to join Michael B. Jordan in courtroom drama Just Mercy. Variety reported that the film is an adaptation of Bryan Stevenson’s memoir, Just Mercy: A Story of Justice and Redemption. It is the true story of Stevenson who fought for equality under the law. Oscar winner Foxx will play a criminal who is on the death row, and is being defended by Stevenson (Jordan). The film was originally from Broad Green Pictures, but the studio shut last year and the project has now been shifted to Warner Bros.
