Vidyasagar University, Midnapore strives to provide the best possible infrastructure to categorically improve the University life of the students.
The Central Library of Vidyasagar University was set up in 1986 and has since grown in size and content. The library is well equipped with modern facilities and resources in the forms of printed books, journals, theses, reports, CD-ROMs, online databases, e-books, e-journals, etc. The library uses KOHA, an integrated library management software package with all the modules for automated library operations. The Central Library has a collection of over 1 lakh books, 121 subscribed print journals, and over 5000 archived volumes of bound periodicals, theses, proceedings, reports, and CD/DVD databases. Being a member of eShodhSindhu, the library has online access to more than 7000 full-text journals from publishers like JSTOR, ACS, SpringerLeak, OUP, Project Muse, etc. The University library also has access to different databases and World eBook Library through the National Digital Library of India (NDLI). In addition to these, there are over 700 purchased e-books for the members to avail. The entire building of has Wi-Fi access, and members can use their own gadgets within the premises. Photocopy and printing facilities are also present within the library.
Focusing on an organic fusion of curricular and co-curricular activities, the Vidyasagar University Sports Committee organises various types of tournaments such as football, cricket, volleyball, kho-kho, kabaddi, athletics, and chess throughout the year. A fully equipped indoor gymnasium is also present on the campus.
VU campus is completely Wi-Fi enabled.
VU has multiple specialised labs, auditoriums, seminar halls, a cafeteria, and a healthcare facility. A dedicated medical assistance staff is present on campus which includes one medical officer and three assistants. In addition to first-aid facilities, there is E.C.G. and ambulance access for students in case of emergencies.
