University of Engineering and Management, Kolkata (UEM Kolkata), was established in 2014 by Act No 25 of 2014 of the Govt of West Bengal. UEM Kolkata also offers a 3-year Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree, a 3-year Bachelor of Computer Application (BCA) degree, a 3-year Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) (Hotel and Hospitality Management) degree and a 5-year Integrated BBA. LL.B (Hons) degree at the undergraduate level.
The admission process to the UEM Kolkata requires the candidates to pass their 10+2 examinations from a recognized Board or Council in India and is merit-based. The candidates seeking admission in B.Tech. BBA and BCA courses need to appear for the IEMJEE conducted by the UEM Kolkata. UEM Kolkata has a WiFi-enabled campus with several modern facilities. The library, which is open to students all around the year, houses over 27000 books and facilitates a 1:1 student-to-book ratio on all books. Apart from that, there are several thousands of e-books available through the University Library's National Digital Library subscription, which is handled using the KOHA and IEMCRP software. Additionally, MOOCs, or Massive Open Online Courses, like NPTEL, SWAYAM, SWAYAM PRABHA, e-PG Pathshala, and CEC are available. UEM Kolkata provides separate hostels to male and female students and is fully furnished. There are multiple labs for various departments of engineering on the campus and are equipped with the latest devices.

Admission Procedure
University of Engineering and Management, Kolkata conducts an online student admission procedure. The students (co-ed) are required to qualify for the Institute of Engineering and Management Joint Entrance Exam (IEMJEE) for those who are seeking admission in the B.Tech courses with multiple specializations, BBA and BCA. Admission to the BA LL.B course is decided upon merit and is required to qualify for the entrance exam designed by UEM, Kolkata.
UEM Kolkata provides some Postgraduation courses in Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master of Computer Application (MCA) and PhD courses with various specializations. Candidate must have a bachelor's degree in a relevant stream from a recognised university with required marks and must qualified Common Admission Test (CAT), Management Aptitude Course (MAT), Joint Entrance Examination for Computer Application (JECA), Joint Entrance Examination for Management Aptitude Test (WBJEMAT). The final admissions are based on the merit scored by the candidates. Candidates for PhD programmes must have earned a master's degree in any field from a university or other organisation recognised by the UGC while maintaining an overall GPA of at least 60%. A candidate is expected to enrol in a course after taking an entrance exam and being interviewed.
