Dedicated to becoming one of the leading universities in India, the foundation stone of the University of Delhi (DU) was laid in the year 1922. Besides, the university offers a few Diploma Courses such as Diploma in Business Journalism & Corporate Communication, Pali Language & Literature, Modern Arabic, Punjabi, Sanskrit, Tibetan Language & Literature. Candidates seeking admission to the prestigious university have to qualify for the Central University Common Entrance Test (CUCET) or DU Common Entrance Test (DUCET). Securing qualifying marks in Higher Secondary examination is amongst the criteria set by the official authorities.

Students can apply for the Entrance Test through the official website of the DU. A range of scholarships are available for needy and meritorious students. Scholarship schemes at DU include Dr. V.K.R.V. Rao Endowment Book Grant, Sh. Prem Prakash Award, the DU and College Karamchari Union Book-Grant, the Delhi State Co-operative Union Book-Grant, Shri Ram Lubhaya Book Grant, Vijender Sharmila Chopra Book Grant and Shri Moti Lal Kaul Aima Memorial Book Grant for blind students.

To get students placed in reputable global corporations, governmental agencies, non-profit organizations, and the private sector, the Central Placement department of DU puts in relentless efforts round the clock. Students are also provided with lectures and workshops which help them to become professionals.

To assist students with all sorts of information, the DU features a library system consisting of the Central Library Complex, FMS Library, Central Science Library, East Asian Studies; a digital library with access to E-resources. Besides, the DU includes basic amenities such as a Computer Center and University Science Instrumentation Center; separate hostel accommodation for boys and girls; sports facilities with a rugby stadium, basketball court, indoor gymnasium, a polo ground and more; spacious classrooms; a health centre; on-campus ATM; bus services; railway reservation centre and a cafeteria.

Admission Procedure

The University of Delhi has an admission method in which students (co-ed) must visit the official website after obtaining qualifying marks on their 10+2 examination from a recognised board. Candidates may apply to any course within the broad range of courses the DU offers. The final admissions procedure will be announced through the website in due course after the application is submitted via the Central University Common Entrance Test (CUCET) or Delhi University Common Entrance Test (DUCET).

The University of Delhi's Central Placement department works to place students in reputable global corporations, governmental agencies, non-profit organisations, and the private sector. All CPC-registered students will receive counselling on job placement, self- and social enterprise, and placement support. By making university facilities available to them, the cell ensures logistic support to the visiting firms at every stage of the placement process.
