Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology, Patiala (TIET Patiala) is one of the oldest educational institutes in the country, founded in 1956 in Patiala. Today it is ranked as one of the top private technical institutes in the country that offers a wide range of undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral courses. In additional to Technology, the TIET Patiala also offers degrees and programmes in Engineering, Management, Science and a few others.
TIET Patiala offers honours degrees like B.A.in Economics, History, Philosophy, Psychology, Political Science and Literary and Cultural Studies; B.Sc. in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Computer Science and Cognitive Science; B.Com; B.B.A and various B.Tech and BE degrees. Scholarships are also given to students based on their merit.

Admission Procedure
Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology, Patiala conducts its admissions online. For applying in B.E and B.Tech courses, admissions are conducted through two separate modes. After the initial applications are submitted, 50 per cent of the seats are filled on the basis of the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main results. The other 50 per cent of seats are allotted based on the candidates’ 10+2 PCM or other vocational subject marks as well as a personal interview with the admissions committee. The candidates are required to check the official website for other admission-related information.
TIET Patiala also offers postgraduate ( M.A / M.SC / M.E/ M.Tech / MBA) degrees with various specializations, Interested candidates can apply through their official website. To apply for their post-graduate degree candidate must qualify for GATE for M.Tech, CAT/MAT/XAT/GMAT for an MBA degree. TIET Patiala also provides PhD degrees to apply for their PhD degree candidate must qualify for an entrance examination ( UGC-CSIR / NET / GATE) entrance examination.
