St. John’s Medical College (SJMC), located in Bengaluru, was established in the year 1963 with the aim of training healthcare personnel committed to serving the poor in the margins. A group of experienced educators and non-teaching faculty members make up the faculty. The teaching staff has a long and remarkable experience; as a result, they provide the students with the greatest academic insights. Additionally, faculty members assist students with practice questions and lab-related issues.

SJMC is affiliated with the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences and has been approved by the National Medical Commission (NMC) with accreditation from National Accreditation Board for Hospitals (NABH).

The undergraduate courses offered by SJMC are as follows MBBS; Bachelor of Physiotherapy; Bachelor of Science in Radiotherapy Technology, Medical Imaging Technology (MIT), Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT), Renal Dialysis Technology (RDT), Perfusion Technology (PT), Anaesthesia and Operation Theatre Technology (AOTT).

The application process is done online. The students must have passing grades from any reputable board to be eligible for their higher secondary exams. In their plus two, the students must have a grounding in science. The admittance process is merit-based. For admission to the MBBS programme, students must pass the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET), and for admission to the other programmes, they must pass the entrance exam and the interview held by SJMC.

Students can find internship opportunities with the aid of the placement cell. They receive interview preparation. Every student is allowed to succeed via the placement cells. The students are sent to various institutions both inside and outside the state.

The facilities provided to students at SJMC are as follows a central traditional library with a large area for stocking books, back volumes of periodicals, and current publications; an E-library is provided to the students. Innovative audio-visual aids and microfilms are available to the students; Separate hostels for boys and girls. Male and female students can stay at the SJMC's hostels, which have basic furniture and are subject to availability. Students must provide their own mattresses, pillows, bed linen, mosquito nets, and other personal goods; Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Pathology, and other pre-clinical and para-clinical departments have well-equipped student laboratories that contribute to delivering good hands-on teaching to students. Several departments have museums that house a wealth of educational resources; on-campus high-speed internet; the classrooms are designed to support interactive teaching and learning.

The classrooms are equipped with smartboards, speakers, microphones and projectors. There are also 4 auditoriums, with the latest audio and visual equipment, which can seat between 200 and 1000 people. The auditorium has the latest audio and visual equipment; 24*7 medical services; a sports complex; and a pocket-friendly cafeteria.

Admission Procedure

The admission procedure of St. John’s Medical College is conducted online. The students (co-ed) are required to qualify for their Higher Secondary Examinations with passing marks from any recognized board with a science background after which they are required to qualify for the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) for pursuing the MBBS program and the other courses under B.Sc and BPT require the students to pass the entrance test and the interview which is conducted by SJMC. The final admission is provided on the basis of merits scored by the students.

St. John’s Medical College also provides postgraduate and super specialty degrees MD / MS / M.CH / DM with various specializations. Interested candidates can apply through their official website. To apply for their post-graduate degree candidate must qualify for an entrance examination National Eligibility Entrance Test (Postgraduate) and for super specialty degree courses candidates must qualify for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (Super Speciality Courses).
