Siliguri Institute of Technology, Siliguri (SIT) was established in 1999 as a unit of the Techno India Group. The sprawling campus of SIT, Siliguri is located 5km away from Siliguri City, surrounded by lush tea gardens, dense Sukna Forest and a backdrop of Sub-Himalayan ranges.

Multiple well-equipped and specialised laboratories are present on campus, with an adequate number of computer setups to provide 1:1 support to the students. The Games and Sports Committee oversees all sports and athletics activities, and organises the Annual Sports Meet of SIT, Siliguri. The campus has 3 hostels, 2 for girls and 1 for boys, where bookings are provided on a first-come-first-serve basis for a period of one year. SIT, Siliguri has an air-conditioned First Aid Centre, with trained medical support staff and a round-the-clock emergency vehicle. An ATM is present at the entrance of the campus, and bus service is provided along specified routes to and from the city of Siliguri.

Admission to Siliguri Institute of Technology, Siliguri is done on the basis of candidates' performance at the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations (WBJEE) for B.Tech students, and the Joint Entrance Examination for Hotel Management (JEHOM) for BHMCT students, and subsequent counselling, both conducted by West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board. Almost 50% of eligible students get placed every session. The Training and Placement Cell also provides technical and soft skill trainings from the 1st to 7th semester. Technical Training are specially curated for the various courses, and include coding in C, C++, Java, ML with Python, Data Structure, IoT for CSE and IT students, as well as Networking and ML using Tensor Flow for ECE, AutoCAD and Motor Winding for EE, and MX Road, GIS Remote Sensing and Revit for CE students. Each training is worth 2 credit points.
