R.M.D Engineering College, Thiruvallur is located in Kavaraipettai, some 35 kilometers from Chennai on the Chennai-Kolkata National Highways. RMDEC Thiruvallur which is situated on 26.2 acres of lush greenery, has first-rate infrastructure facilities, including enough lecture halls, tutorial rooms, laboratories, seminar halls for different departments, a library, and sports facilities.
RMDEC Thiruvallur is known as a "Clean and Green Campus" because of its lovely plantations and exceptionally clean, green, and scenic surroundings, which create a great studying environment. RMDEC Thiruvallur provides for the needs of its academic excellence by having well-equipped laboratories, and ventilated and well-furnished classrooms with ICT facilities.
The central library of RMDEC Thiruvallur is housed in the new block and has a carpeted surface of 1430 square meters. It has 14342 titles and 60645 volumes of literature. The Library has subscriptions to 6649 CD ROMs, 38 magazines, 16 newspapers, 1828 back issues of journals, six of the top worldwide e-journals, and 54 national journals.
There is wifi available on the campus. Students have access to both indoor and outdoor gaming spaces to practice their skills in various sports. There are many sports facilities available for students, including a fantastic cricket field, a basketball court, a football field, two tennis courts, two shuttle courts, and two volleyball courts. A 400m athletic track of international standard is available for students to develop their sporting personalities. Modern multi-gyms are available at RMDEC Thiruvallur.
The other infrastructure consists of a computer center, one modern seminar hall, a fleet of 80 buses, 15 vans, and cars, medicinal facilities, an ATM facility, etc.
RMDEC Thiruvallur offers extensive student residential facilities. For the benefit of the students, the boy's dormitory provides a separate library, reading room, shuttle courts, and a store (shop). For the benefit of the students, the girl’s hostel features a shop, table tennis courts, and shuttle courts.
