PSGR Krishnammal College for Women, Coimbatore (PSGRKCW) was established in 1963 and it is affiliated with Bharathiar University. The college envisions imparting value-based education to young women, helping them become knowledgeable and skilled individuals, build confidence and confer dignity to become responsible citizens who would contribute to the upliftment of society.
PSGRKCW aims at helping the underprivileged through the availability of quality education and empowering young women to become leaders and contributors in this rapidly evolving world. The college follows an updated and revised curriculum to provide knowledge and help in skill development aligned with the current industry practices. PSGRKCW offers a vast range of undergraduate, postgraduate, and research options to students in the field of Science, Commerce, Arts, and Management and Business Administration.
PSGRKCW offers several scholarship programmes to help in the educational advancement of women. Students have the option to apply to various scholarship programmes such as the Backward Classes Welfare Department Scholarship, Govt. of India Scholarship for meritorious students, Scholarship for the daughters of Defence Service Personnel, Govt. of India Scholarship for SC/ST students, Scholarship for the daughters of freedom fighters, Founders Day Scholarship for the needy and meritorious students by GRG Trust, Indira Gandhi Scholarship for Single Girl Child by UGC for PG students, Chief Minister’s Scholarship for Research Students and many more. PSGRKCW also assists students through its Student’s Aid Fund.

The Chandrakanthi Center for Development and Excellence, which works to equip the future generation for productive employment, is housed within the college. Through solid alumni connections, joint industry-sponsored projects, and the presence of notable industry support staff, regular student internship programmes are made available to PSGRKCW students. The students are provided with an insight into the Personality Development Programs and "Campus to Corporate Connect." They obtain training from an outside training partner through these programmes. In addition, the college administration offers community development programmes conducted by several governmental and non-governmental organisations, where participants should fulfil a 30-hour service obligation. Over the past few years, reputed companies like Infosys, TCS, HCL, Accenture, Deloitte, Wipro, ICICI, Nielson, and many others have been conducting recruitment drives at the campus.
PSGRKCW consists of Chandrakanthi Memorial Professional Library, GR Govindarajulu Memorial General Library, and 17 other departmental libraries that have a collection of several important resources. The digital library of PSGRKCW has numerous e-books, e-journals, and access to databases. PSGRKCW has well-furnished and properly maintained hostels for the students. PSGRKCW offers eight hostels and has several amenities. The college ensures 24/7 security for its students. It is guarded by professional security personnel. The GRG Centenary Sports Arena is laid with synthetic courts for various sporting activities such as basketball, boxing, volleyball, badminton, and table tennis.
PSGRKCW also provides health and fitness options for its students. The GRG Purple Hues Fitness Studio has 2 fully equipped modern gyms with a range of weights and cardiovascular training equipment. To facilitate modern education, internet requirements are a must, The college provides high bandwidth wifi connectivity 24/7 for the students, faculty members, and staff within the campus. To provide a top-notch teaching-learning experience, the classrooms are spacious, well-furnished, and effectively ventilated. It is also equipped with projectors and screens. The college campus has several state-of-the-art computer and science labs fitted with technologically advanced gadgets, apparatus, and instruments. The college’s GRG Cafeteria is FSSAI-certified, provides a variety of flavoursome dishes, and can accommodate up to 200 students. To streamline banking procedures and transactions, an ATM of IDBI bank has been set up inside the campus.
PSGRKCW has a fleet of 13 buses that travel between the college hostel and the campus. PSGRKCW organises salient meetings, conferences, and seminars which are held in the Chandra Seminar Hall and the Conference Hall. Both halls are equipped with projectors and screens. The campus has two marvelous auditoriums, first one is the open auditorium which has a seating capacity of 4000+ members and the second one is the GRG Centenary Sports Arena auditorium.
