PSG Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, Coimbatore has a Central Library spanning a distance of 57720 square feet, equipped with the latest academic resources for students and staff. Besides containing vast resources, the library is equipped with modern technologies such as a 4 Mbps broadband internet connection, 44 computer systems, and access to web resources and databases. The Central library also consists of an Audio-visual cum video conferencing room, a Group study area, a Digital library, and an Own book study area. The digital library includes numerous e-books and e-journals. The total resources at the Central Library include 46224 Text and Reference books, 968 current versions of print and online journals, 10,528 back volumes of the journal, 9 online databases, 3000 CDs, 1657 WHO publications, and 462 dissertations. The library can accommodate up to 900 people at once.
PSGIMSR, Coimbatore provides its students with magnificent individual accommodation facilities. Boys and girls both have their separate hostels. The well-constructed and furnished hostels have a set of amenities such as leading newspapers and periodicals in the reading room, a separate hall for watching television, 24/7 electricity supply with a generator backup system, safe and clean continuous water supply with a reverse osmosis water treatment plant, mechanized laundry, indoor games hall, fully equipped gymnasium, large playfields, canteen facility, etc.
PSGIMSR, Coimbatore fosters an environment of athleticism and sportsmanship amongst its students. Teamwork, dedication, healthy competition, and participation are salient attributes necessary for the personality development of a medical student. Talented sportsmen/women amongst the medical students have been representing and bringing laurels to the college. PSGIMSR, Coimbatore has ten acres of extensive sporting fields including cricket and football fields, basketball, volleyball, and tennis court with artificial surfaces and flood lights. Other sporting courts include badminton, ball badminton, kho-kho, throwball, and tennikoit. The hostels and the department of physical education provide indoor games facilities for carrom, chess, and carrom. The large gymnasium at the campus is equipped with advanced training equipment.
PSGIMSR, Coimbatore’s canteen ensures that students and faculty can enjoy mouthwatering and hygienic food at subsidized rates. The canteen has a milk kiosk, bakery, grocery store, fruit station, tea shop, and a clean well-maintained restaurant. PSGIMSR, Coimbatore emphasizes the importance of mental health and the well-being of its students.
The PSG Student Wellness Center was inaugurated to take care of the student's well-being. It addresses the psychological and personal needs of the students. PSGIMSR, Coimbatore has an attached multi-specialty hospital that is equipped with ICU, Critical Care Unit, laboratories, blood bank, and pharmacy operating 24/7. The campus of PSGIMSR, Coimbatore has well-constructed, spacious, and properly ventilated classrooms to create a conducive teaching-learning environment for students and staff. Every department is equipped with laboratories that have state-of-the-art technologies, gadgets, and apparatus.
The entire campus is wifi enabled for students, staff, and other members of faculty within the campus. PSGIMSR, Coimbatore organises cultural competitions annually. The final-year MBBS students organise the event and all the other batches participate. It takes place at the auditorium that is equipped with proper audio-visual equipment, a large stage, etc. Important meetings, lectures, seminars, and workshops organised by the college take place at the seminar hall. Another amenity of the campus building is the availability of an ATM for easing banking transactions for students.
