Osmania University, Hyderabad (OU) was established in the year 1918 and is the third-oldest university in South India and the seventh-oldest in India. Through a blend of modern and ancient wisdom, OU Hyderabad aims at imparting education and creating knowledgeable and skillful individuals who can make contributions both at a regional and national level. Hyderabad is a city with rich cultural history, and, preserving this culture is an important mission of the University. Consisting of seven important college campuses namely; University College of Arts & Social Sciences, University College of Science, University College of Commerce and Business Management, University College of Education, University College of Law, University College of Engineering, and University of Technology, OU Hyderabad offers a vast number of courses in all the departments. Most of the courses offered at the University campuses are postgraduate courses and doctorates along with several bachelor's degree courses in the Engineering department.
The Directorate of Admissions at OU Hyderabad is responsible for all admission-related matters at the University. During the first week of April every year, the Directorate issues notifications about admission and entrance into various PG and PG Diploma courses. Entrance examinations into various courses are also conducted by the Directorate along with evaluating the results and releasing a rank-wise merit list. All the courses have a separate set of eligibility criteria that must be fulfilled by the candidates for getting admission into the University. For providing desirable instructions, apt training, and evaluation to the students of various fields of education, OU Hyderabad comprises of 12 different faculties.
The training and placement facility of the University is top-notch. The Employment Information and Guidance Bureau assists them in their career decisions, provides proper counseling and guidance, imparts career information to the students, and provides suitable employment opportunities to its students according to the recruiter’s needs. A website has been hosted by the University which has a search engine that assists the graduates to find the right employment opportunities. OU Hyderabad has established a list of important departments such as the Directorate of Placement Services, Competitive Examinations Coaching Centre, etc which give several support services to the students at the University like career guidance, soft skill development, personality development etc.
Osmania University, Hyderabad (OU) offers a variety of infrastructural facilities to its students. OU Hyderabad’s library covers a floor area of 62,000 sq ft and has a vast collection of resources and reading materials that are accessible to the students. OU Hyderabad also consists of a digital library that has a collection of e-books, e-journals, and other useful resources.
Osmania University, Hyderabad (OU) has medical facilities on its main campus. The OU Hyderabad health centre which is headed by a Chief medical officer who is assisted by a team of experienced and competent doctors, provide free medical treatments to students, staff, and their family members. Banking requirements are also fulfilled by the University since it houses a branch of The State Bank of India at the Arts College building. OU Hyderabad organises many cultural and academic events, and national and international seminars and lectures with imminent speakers, all of which are held at the Tagore Auditorium.
Osmania University, Hyderabad’s Physical education department provides the students with the facilities needed for outdoor sports and within the premises of the university campus, the Arts College of OU Hyderabad has been arranging multiple indoor sports such as Chess, Badminton, Table Tennis, Carrom. All the colleges, departments, centres and hostels have 24/7 wifi and internet facilities. OU, Hyderabad has hospital facilities for its students, and presently 22 hostels and 15 messes are operating under the control of the principals of the concerned colleges.

Admission Procedure
The Directorate of Admissions issues notifications for entrance and admissions into various P.G and P.G Diploma courses during the first week of April every year. Notifications for other courses such as B.Ed(distance mode), M.Phil, etc are issued when the University notifies them.
The Directorate of Admissions conducts the entrance examinations to various courses in the first/second week of June, and after evaluation, they declare the results along with a rank-wise merit list. Admissions to P.G. and P.G. Diploma courses offered by various University constituent and affiliated colleges are made through a centralized counseling process. The counseling process, in general, commences during the last week of June or the first week of July every year.
Verifies the eligibility and approves the list of admitted candidates under Non-Resident Indian (NRI) quota / Management Quota into M.A., M.Sc., M.B.A., M.C.A., B.Ed., LL.B., LL.M., Hotel Management, Hospital Management and Pharmacy courses offered by all private affiliating institutions of the Osmania University, including minority institutions.

Osmania University, Hyderabad (OU), has 12 different Faculties comprising different departments for imparting education in various fields efficiently. The faculty members/professors provide students with apt instruction, training, and evaluation.
Placements
Osmania University, Hyderabad (OU), has taken several new initiatives for the empowerment of students through various support services such as career guidance, healthcare, psychological counselling, mentoring, personality development, communication, and soft skills development by establishing the Competitive Examinations Coaching Centre, Directorate of Placement Services, Sahayam, and augmenting facilities at English Language Training Centre, University Computer Centre, and University Health Centre.

To facilitate students' easy access to job sites and help employers find suitable candidates, a website has been designed and hosted. The site has a search engine to find suitable jobs for each graduate and vice versa. Presently every affiliated college is required to advertise their academic jobs on this site. The service was established by the university in the year 2002.OU Hyderabad International Placement Services help graduates search for suitable jobs, help affiliated colleges advertise the jobs on a permanent platform
