Nitte Mahalinga Adyantaya Memorial Institute of Technology (NMAMIT), Udupi is an autonomous private engineering “Deemed to be University” affiliated with the Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belagavi. Instituted in 1986, NMAMIT, Udupi is run by the Nitte Education Trust (founded in 1979). NMAMIT, Udupi was granted autonomous status in 2008 and became a constituent college of Nitte (Deemed) University, Mangaluru in June 2022.
NMAMIT, Udupi is situated in Upupi, Karnataka on a sprawling 125-acre campus in the western ghats. The campus is well-equipped with academic and extra-curricular facilities including well-equipped classrooms, a well-stocked library, seminar halls, state-of-the-art laboratories, sports facilities, two AC auditoriums with AV technology, the 5000-seater Sadananda Open Air Auditorium with a seating capacity of 5000 equipped sound systems, projectors and internet facilities.
Nitte Mahalinga Adyantaya Memorial Institute of Technology, Udupi offers undergraduate engineering programmes such as B.Sc. and B.Tech. across 11 disciplines and postgraduate engineering courses across 10 disciplines. The institute also is equipped with research guides to aid students pursuing doctoral programmes and academic research. Admissions into B.Tech. programmes are dependent on the candidate’s performance in the Nitte University Common Admission Test (NUCAT) conducted all across India. Admissions into B.Sc. programmes are conducted through the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) and NMAMIT.

The institute offers scholarships to both undergraduate and postgraduate students. In the case of B.Tech courses, the highest scorers in the Nitte University Common Admission Test (NUCAT) are given 20% of the seats in each programme. Top NUCAT scorers are eligible for scholarships worth up to 40% of the tuition fees.
The NMAMIT Department of Counselling, Student Welfare, Training, and Placement- also known as “Abhyuday”- is in charge of student well-being, placement preparations and registrations, updates via internal and web portals, and other student-related matters. NMAMIT, Udupi organises regular orientation sessions for new students, training programmes in leadership, public speaking, effective communication, and mock interviews to prepare students for placements. NMAMIT has been persistent in student placements and boasts a strong placement record with over 80 well-known organisations assisting in placements each year. Over 150 companies provide students with industrial exposure through recruitment and internships. Some of the leading recruiters participating in placements and internship opportunities include HashedIn by Deloitte, RedBus, Capgemini, Accenture, Mercedes Benz Cars, Amazon, Juniper Networks, JP Morgan & Chase, Target, and Japanese firms like Yokogawa Electric Corporation, Kobayashi Create, and AIBOD.
NMAMIT, Udupi also hosts, organises, and participates in a variety of cultural, academic, and extra-curricular activities and festivals such as Nitte’s National level Techno-Cultural fest "Incridea", ship modelling competitions, Internal Quality Assurance Cell lecture series, and Engineers Day celebrations. Vighnesh, a student of the university, has also been honoured with a Guinness World Record for achieving 'The most Bo strikes in one minute: 401'.

Admission Procedure
NMAMIT(co-ed) offers B.Tech degrees in several specializations, as well as B.Sc(Hons) degrees in Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry. Applicants for UG programmes must have completed 10+2 with a minimum of 45% in Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry/Biotechnology / Biology / Computers / Electronics. Admission to B. Tech in the General Category is determined by performance in the All India Entrance Test - NUCAT (Nitte University Common Admission Test). Candidates for the Entrance Test must fill out and submit the NUCAT registration form online. Admission to the B.Sc(Hons) courses is handled in two stages: first, through KEA (Karnataka Examinations Authority), and second, through NMAMIT. Candidates who are interested in applying for admission should visit the official website.
NMAMIT Udupi also offers M.Tech, MCA, and PhD courses. For admission to M.Tech and MCA programmes, candidates must pass the Nitte University Common Admission Test (NUCAT) Entrance Test. A bachelor's degree is necessary to apply for these courses. Candidates for a PhD programme must pass the entrance exam and have a master's degree in a relevant field from an accredited university.
