Manipal College of Dental Sciences (MCDS), located in Mangalore, was established in 1987 with the aim to become one of the most equipped and comprehensive academic setups in dentistry in the country. MCDS Mangalore has been accredited by the Dental Council of India (DCI).

MCDS Mangalore offers BDS and MDS courses. The admission process is conducted online. Candidates must have passed/cleared the class 12th level examination in Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English with a minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Biotechnology taken together. To get admission to MCDS Mangalore students have to qualify for NEET exam for BDS and NEET-MDS exam for MDS courses.
Various scholarship schemes such as The Kalam-Pai, Freeship and Scholars Scholarship for MBBS and BDS Programs, National Scholarship Portal (NSP), State Scholarship Portal (SSP), Canara Bank Vidya Turant Scheme, and many more are available for students. Students are offered internship opportunities as part of the BDS curriculum. Candidates get placed in and out of the state in different institutions.
A traditional library, a digital library, and separate labs for each department - Department Of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics, Department of Dental Materials, Department of Oral Medicine and Radiology, Department of Oral Pathology, Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Department of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, Department of Paedodontics and Preventive Dentistry, Department of Periodontology, Department of Prosthodontics and Crown and Bridge, and Department of Public Health Dentistry, separate hostel accommodation for boys and girls, one basketball court, a gym, a recreation room, spacious classrooms, medical services, WIFI enabled campus, an auditorium and a cafeteria are the major facilities given by MCDS Mangalore.

Admission Procedure
The Manipal College of Dental Sciences Mangalore conducts an online admission procedure for students. The students (co-ed) are required to have attained passing marks in their Higher Secondary Examinations. A candidate seeking admission to the Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) program. The candidates must have passed/cleared the class 12th level examination in Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English with a minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Biotechnology taken together after which they are required to qualify for the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) examination. The final admission is based on the total merit scored by the students.
A candidate seeking admission to the Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) program must hold a Bachelor's degree in Dental Surgery (BDS) and be required to qualify for the NEET MDS examination.
