Established in the year 1953, the Kasturba Medical College (KMC) Manipal has numerous ‘firsts’ associated with its name. It is considered to be the first self-financing private medical college in the country. In the contemporary era, KMC Manipal’s name is inseparable from quality education which even earned the college an accreditation from NABH (National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare Providers). The faculty members of KMC Manipal is highly experienced who assist students by imparting their expertise and setting up the exact environment required by them to learn efficiently.
At present the Kasturba Medical College Manipal offers a 5.5 year undergraduate course in M.B.B.S. All admissions at KMC Manipal are conducted online. Students willing to apply for their courses are required to match the eligibility requirements of the course. While the admission criteria here differs from courses to courses all students are required to mandatorily pass their 10+2 school leaving entrance examinations from a recognised university before applying. The final admission is granted strictly on the basis of merits secured by the student in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG). The KMC Manipal also offers a range of scholarships and financial aid opportunities for students from economically weaker backgrounds. Internship opportunities in KMC Manipal’s own hospital are offered to deserving candidates every year.
The Kasturba Medical College, Manipal takes pride in having one of Asia’s largest medical libraries. This library continues to fulfil its role as the soul of KMC Manipal assisting the emerging learners with its diverse collection of books, e-books, computers, and other resources. Spacious air-conditioned and eco-friendly laboratories of: Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Pathology, Microbiology, Forensic Medicine, Community Medicine, Respiratory Medicine, Dermatology, Orthopaedic, Ophthalmology, Radiotherapy, IHBT, PMR, Gastroenterology Research, Cardiology, Medical Genetics, Infectious Disease and many others are also a part of the campus. Furthermore, every classroom is well furnished and equipped with all necessary elements to provide a comfortable learning environment to the students. Wi-Fi facilities are also available for the students to avail. Separate hostels to house boys and girls with all necessary facilities are even present within the vicinity of the campus. Playgrounds, indoor stadium and outdoor courts topped with a vast open space allows the students to make the most out of their free time. The canteen here also serves hygienic veg and non veg food. KMC Manipal is always available to cater to all the medical emergency needs of its students and staff.

Admission Procedure
Kasturba Medical College, Manipal’s admissions are conducted online. To apply for their undergraduate degrees - M.B.B.S, candidates must meet all the required eligibility requirements of the course. The candidate has to go through the admission portal created on the official website and send an application through it. While the admission criteria and eligibility differ from course to course, all students must have passed their 10+2 school leaving test from a recognised board of secondary education. The admission process strictly follows the merit secured by a student in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG).
Kasturba Medical College, Manipal also provide Post-Graduate MD / MS and DM / M.Ch degrees with various specialization. Interested candidates can apply through their official website, to their PG degree candidates must qualify for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Postgraduate ( NEET- PG). And for super speciality courses, the candidate qualifies for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Super Speciality (NEET-SS) entrance exam.

The Kasturba Medical College Manipal has a Career Counselling Cell that works with students to provide assistance and counselling in order to help them redefine their passion in their careers and build critical employability skills.
