Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology School of Biotechnology, Bhubaneswar (KSBT), established in 2007, is a part of the Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology, Bhubaneswar (KIIT). The mission of KSBT is to have integrated academic and research programmes so as to develop skilled practitioners in the field of biotechnology and microbiology. KSBT provides a holistic nurturing environment for budding young scholars and encourages entrepreneurship and the development of innovative technologies for the benefit of society.
KIIT School of Biotechnology, Bhubaneswar offers 1 integrated (IG) programme - B.Tech + M.Tech in Biotechnology; 2 postgraduate (PG) programmes - M.Sc in Biotechnology and Applied Microbiology; and doctoral programmes in related fields. KSBT is accredited by The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), United Kingdom. The faculty members at KSBT come from all over the country and are experts in their respective fields of research and education. The faculty is dedicated to offering an integrated, individualised, and student-centred approach to higher levels of research, education, support, and outreach. KIIT School of Biotechnology, Bhubaneswar, provides state-of-the-art infrastructure that includes a large number of air-conditioned classrooms, laboratories, conference halls, reading rooms, and a round-the-clock library with journals, e-resources, multilingual newspapers, diverse magazines, and approximately 15000 volumes of text. The digital library has access to an extensive variety of databases on interdisciplinary topics, notably the core subjects of science and technology. KSBT offers separate hostel facilities for both boys and girls. Each hostel boarder is provided with a cot, mattress, study table, chair, book rack, and wardrobe. Every hostel has uninterrupted power supply power, hot water during the winter, a water cooler with Aquaguard filters, a recreation hall, a gymnasium, and indoor games provisions. The sports facility at KSBT includes provisions for both indoor and outdoor games. Being a part of KIIT, Bhubaneswar, members of KSBT can avail the 12 sports complexes that are present within the KIIT campus. The Institute has its own fleet of buses and shuttles, as well as multiple banks and ATMs within the campus for the convenience of the students and staff. KBST campus is also full Wi-Fi enabled to provide scholars easy access to online resources.

Admission Procedure
Candidates who wish to take admission to KIIT School of Biotechnology must apply to sit for the KIIT Entrance Examination (KIITEE) via the official website. In addition to qualifying KIITEE, candidates must also pass 10+2 level examinations or equivalent from a recognised board, scoring atleast 60% in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology/Biotechnology. Only 21 year old or younger candidates are eligible for admission for the B.Tech+M.Tech dual course in Biotechnology.

Scholarships
KIIT School of Biotechnology offers multiple scholarship schemes for its students every year, such as "PradyumnaBal Memorial Scholarships", "KIIT Poverty-Cum-Merit Scholarships", "KIIT Merit Scholarship", and "KIITEE Merit Scholarship", among others. The PradyumnaBal Memorial Scholarship is awarded every year to two economically underprivileged and meritorious students. Economically poor students are also supported by the KIIT Poverty-Cum-Merit Scholarships. The KIIT Merit Scholarship is awarded to the topper in each semester for 6 months, while KIITEE Merit Scholarship provides free education to the 1st rank holder of the KIITEE (B.Tech entrance examination of Kalinga Institute of Technology).
