Institute of Science and Technology, Chandrakona provides state-of-the-art infrastructure to ensure the holistic development of the students. The technical Institute has over 60 specialised laboratories and workshops for the various departments. The laboratories are equipped with the latest apparatus to keep the students up to date with the industry. The Department of Civil Engineering has 9 specialised labs, namely, Structures and Construction Engineering lab, Soil Mechanics lab, Hydraulics and Fluid Machinery lab, Strength of Materials lab, Concrete and Highway lab, Environmental Engineering lab, Remote Sensing and GIS lab, Rural Engineering lab, AUTO-CAD lab. The Department of Mechanical Engineering has over 7 workshops like Carpentry, Welding, Tin Smithy, etc., and 15 labs like Manufacturing Process, Foundry, and Thermal Engineering. Students can access various software applications such as CATIA, I-DEAS, LS-Dyna, NASTRAN, U-Grip, Virtual NC, QUEST, LS- DYNAFORM, SOLIDCAM, CNC, and more.
The Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, and Electronics and Communication Engineering Departments have 8 specialised well-equipped laboratories with special purpose software packages like ETAP, MATLAB, Orcad, Multisim, PSIM and Magnet. The centrally air-conditioned Computer laboratory catering to the Computer Science and Engineering and Information Technology students has more than 350 computer setups. The lab has been divided into numerous subsections such as Data Structure lab, Numerical Methods and Programming lab, Programming Practice lab, Object-oriented programming lab, Operating Systems lab, Artificial Intelligence lab, Computer Architecture and Organization lab, System Software and Administration lab, Unix lab, C++ lab, Information System Design lab, and Operations Research lab. The Department of Applied Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering boasts of having Process Control Lab, DCS Lab, Analytical Instrumentation Lab, Measurement Lab, Power Electronics Lab, Industrial Instrumentation Lab, Instrumentation Design and Simulation Lab, Microprocessor 8085/ 8086 Lab, Microcontroller Lab, Control System Lab, and more for the students to avail. All the laboratories on campus extend great support towards enhancing the learning experience of the students and making them industry-ready.
IST Chandrakona has a well-stocked library which provides a Book Bank facility. Students can collect books from the Book Bank and return them at the end of the semester. Separate boys’ and girls’ hostels are present on the campus, where separate study rooms are provided to boarders. IST Chandrakona has facilities for both outdoor sports, such as a cricket pitch and a football field, and indoor sports, such as carrom, chess, and table tennis. A modern cafeteria and a medical unit are present on the campus for the convenience of students and staff.
