Institute of Science and Technology, Chandrakona (IST Chandrakona) was established in Paschim Midnapore in 2005. IST Chandrakona is a private organisation sponsored by Gopsai Avinandan Sangha, an NGO based in West Bengal and working primarily in the domain of education. The aim of the IST Chandrakona is to impart transferable technical skills to the rural populace of the state.
Institute of Science and Technology, Chandrakona offers B.Tech, M.Tech, MCA, BCA, BBA, BHM, MHA, and Polytechnic as well as ITI courses under the same roof. The green campus in the town suburbs provides an ideal locale for learning pursuits. IST Chandrakona is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), and is affiliated to Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT) and West Bengal State Council of Technical & Vocational Education and Skill Development (WBSCTVESD).

IST Chandrakona strives to provide the best possible infrastructure for students. There are modern specialised laboratories for the various departments. The campus has separate hostels for boys and girls, where separate study rooms are provided for the boarders. IST Chandrakona has facilities for both outdoor sports, such as a cricket pitch and a football field, and indoor sports, such as carrom, chess and table tennis. Admission Procedure
Admission to the Institute of Science and Technology, Chandrakona, takes place online via the official website. The students are required to qualify for 10+2 examinations from a recognized board to be eligible for the undergraduate courses under the degrees of BBA, BCA, BHM and B.Tech with various specialisations and 10th grade examination is required for applying in the Diploma courses.
Additionally, the students pursuing B.Tech courses are required to have a valid JEE-Main (Joint Entrance Examination-Main) or WBJEE (West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination) rank and for other degrees the students must have a valid rank in the Common Entrance Test (CET).
Students are also provided with postgraduate degrees like MCA and M.Tech in various specialisations applying to which they are required to have a bachelor's degree in relevant field from a recognized university.
For applying to the M.Tech courses, the students are required to have valid rank in the West Bengal University of Technology Post Graduate Entrance Test (WBUT PGET) conducted by the Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology, West Bengal along with the above mentioned eligibility.
