The Indian Statistical Institute (ISI), Kolkata is an institute under the government headquartered in the city of joy, Kolkata. ISI, Kolkata is known for training students in statistics and other related sciences. Ever since its inception in the year 1931, it has been minutely devoted to research, teaching and end to end application of statistics. Accredited by the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MOSPI), the autonomous college is also approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).
Over two hundred and fifty faculty members are employed by the college to assist the students excel in their chosen future path. These faculty members are known to be holding prestigious roles such as editors of international journals, industry consultants and so on.
At present ISI, Kolkata offers undergraduate courses in: B. Stat.(Hons.) and B. Math.(Hons). ISI, Kolkata follows an online admission procedure. To be eligible to take admission in the college the students are required to clear their 10+2 school leaving examination mandatorily. Students willing to apply in the college are required to appear for the written test conducted by the college soon after which the qualifying ones are enrolled in.
ISI, Kolkata also offers a wide range of scholarship opportunities like: stipends, fellowships, book grants to its students. The unique campus is even considered as one of the oldest institutions in India that takes pride in having an extensive Central Library network extending to the institute’s other locations. This library is said to have over 2 lakh volumes of books and journals. Additionally the campus is equipped with high speed wifi connectivity to allow students to continue their research on a smooth basis.
Furthermore, ISI, Kolkata also has two computer labs and its own huge auditorium to arrange for workshops, conferences and other necessary programs. The B.T Road Campus of ISI, Kolkata also has its own Medical Welfare Unit consisting of a team made up of Medical Officers, Visiting Specialists, Psychological Counselors, and paramedical staff which delivers emergency medical care as and when needed.

Admission Procedure
Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata’s admissions are conducted through an online application process. To apply for their undergraduate degrees of B.Stat and B.Maths, candidates must appear for the written tests conducted by the institution. After qualifying for the exams shortlisted students are called for an interview and further shortlisted candidates are called for admission.
ISI Kolkata also offers postgraduate programs such as M.Stat, M.Maths, and M.Tech program. Candidates interested in applying for postgraduate programmes must earn a three-year bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in any discipline with mathematics as a subject or a B.E., or B.Tech. Academic records, performance on a written test, and interview performance all play a role in selection. Candidates for Ph.D. programs must have a Master's degree from an accredited institution.

There are about two hundred faculty members in Indian Statistical Instiute, Kolkata to teach their students, who have excelled in their research and graduated from prestigious colleges throughout the world. ISI Kolkata faculty members are constantly engaged in cutting-edge research, both at the institute and in the industry, and hold roles as diverse as editors of international journals, visiting academics at numerous universities, and government and industry consultants.
Placements
Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata provides placement opportunities to PG/PG Diploma students. In addition, these students also get an opportunity for a two-month summer internship in their first year and a six-month internship in their final year. The graduates of ISI Kolkata are hired in roles such as Data Scientists, Business/Data Analysts, Economists, Risk Analysts, Software engineers etc.
