Indian Maritime University, Kolkata is situated on Taratala Road, Kolkata, West Bengal on a sprawling campus spanning an area of 33 acres.
IMU, Kolkata campus has a built-up area of 58861 square metres, 57% of the campus being free area. There are spacious classrooms equipped with air-conditioning facilities and well-equipped laboratories, simulators and computer labs with state-of-the-art equipment, well-equipped model-making workshops, and a library housing over 16,000 books and technical journals.
IMU Kolkata has an expansive auditorium equipped with a seating capacity of up to 100 people and well equipped 30 Seater Conference Hall and 400 Seater Assembly Hall. IMU, Kolkata offers sports facilities in the form of an indoor gymnasium with a multi-gym facility, and up-to-date courts and fields for various sports such as football, cricket, tennis, basketball, hockey, and volleyball. The campus also houses an Olympic-size swimming pool which doubles up as a life-saving training facility for students.
IMU Kolkata offer 24*7 medical assistance via emergency first aid facilities, an eight-bed infirmary, and a medical centre with experienced medical personnel. IMU Kolkata is a residential campus offering separate hostel accommodation facilities for boys and girls. The hostels can accommodate over 800 cadets and are equipped with well-furnished rooms, study rooms, messes, and T.V. rooms for recreation. Other maritime facilities on the IMU, Kolkata campus include a ship on campus with one full-size 6000-BHP marine propulsion engine for the training of cadets and a workshop with various shops.
The students are also provided with an ATM facility of SBI bank.
