Admission Procedure
Indian Institute of Technology, Bhubaneswar’s admissions are conducted online. To apply for their undergraduate degrees, candidates must meet all the required eligibility requirements of the course for which they are applying for. The candidate has to go through the online admission process on the website. Most importantly the candidates must get a valid Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) score in order to be admitted to Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) programmes and Dual Degree - B.Tech-M.Tech programmes. IIT Bhubaneswar also provides Integrated Bachelor of Science - Bachelor of Education (B.Sc-B.Ed) programmes in different specialisations. While the admission criteria and eligibility differ from course to course, all students must have passed their 10+2 school leaving test from a recognised board of secondary education. Primarily admission to IIT Bhubaneswar takes place on the basis of merit obtained in the aforesaid exams.
IIT Bhubaneshwar additionally provides Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), Master of Science (by Research), Master of Science (M.Sc.), and Master of Technology (M.Tech.) programs. Candidates for the M.Tech program must have at least 60% in their B.Tech., Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.), or equivalent degree and a valid Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) score. Candidates must have a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.), B.E., or equivalent degree with a minimum score of 60% to be eligible for the M.Sc. program. Performance in the Joint Admission Test for Masters (JAM) will determine selection. Admissions to the Master of Science (by Research) degrees is based on written test and interview. For admission to the PhD program, candidates must have earned a Master's degree in the relevant field with at least 55% marks. The applicant must possess Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) qualifications in the relevant discipline.
