ICFAI (Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts of India) University, Sikkim (IU Sikkim) is a private deemed-to-be-university situated in Gangtok, Sikkim. ICFAI University, Sikkim was established in 2004 with the passing of the ICFAI University, Sikkim Act 2004 by the Legislative Assembly of Sikkim.

IU Sikkim is a University Grants Commission Act (UGC)-registered institution and is a member of several prestigious organisations and institutions such as the Association of Indian Universities, the Association of Commonwealth Universities (UK), the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), and the United Nations Global Compact. IU Sikkim is situated on an expansive campus spanning 6.5 acres in Gangtok, Sikkim.

The campus is equipped with state-of-the-art academic and extra-curricular facilities that include smart classrooms equipped with projectors and audio-visual aids, a well-equipped auditorium and seminar halls with an expansive seating capacity, a well-stocked library offering access to a multitude of books, magazines, and periodicals, and state-of-the-art laboratories for IT, English Language, Computer, and BHM.

There are six schools and departments of study at IU Sikkim; the School of Management Studies, School of Information Technology, School of Legal Studies, School of Social Sciences, School of Hospitality & Tourism Management, and School of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship. Undergraduate programmes offered at IU Sikkim include B.A. (Hons.), B.Sc. (Hons.), B.Com. (Hons.), B.B.A., B.C.A., B.H.M., B.T.T.M., B.B.A.-LL.B, B.A.-LL.B, and LL.B. IUS also offers postgraduate programmes like M.A. (Hons.), M.Com., M.B.A., executive M.B.A., LL.M., M.T.T.M., M.C.A., and doctoral programmes in Management, Law, Hospitality, and Social Sciences. Admission into IUS courses is conducted based on factors like academic excellence, awards, accolades, participation in sports, cultural events, and extra-curricular activities like debates, quizzes, and adventure sports. Admission into law degrees is conducted based on the candidate’s CLAT/LSAT/ILSAT scores.

Up to 10% of the students in the batch are offered merit scholarships depending on their semester-by-semester performance and previous academic performance. IU Sikkim also boasts an eminent corporate social responsibility (CSR) team that organises several campaigns and programmes to give back to society. Some of IU Sikkim’s prominent CSR initiatives include the outreach program at the serenity home, cleanliness drives, and legal aid clinics and camps.

Admission Procedure

BBA, B.Com(Hons), B.A(Hons), B.Sc(Hons), BCA, BHM, BTTM, BBA-LL.B, B.A-LL.B, and LL.B are among the undergraduate programmes offered by the ICFAI University Sikkim (co-ed). For law degree admission, the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT), Law School Admission Test (LSAT), or ICFAI Law School Admission Test (ILSAT) scores will be considered. The selection of applicants for the other UG programmes is dependent on meeting the eligibility criteria established through application screening. Academic excellence, accolades, and awards in sports, cultural events, and extra-curricular activities such as debates, quizzes, and adventure sports are also given due weightage. All applicants who meet the selection requirements will be granted provisional admission, subject to document verification and fee payment at the time of registration.

ICFAIU Sikkim also offers a post-graduate degree programme ( M.A / MBA/ MTTM/ LLM ) with various specializations. Interested candidates can apply through their official website. To apply for their MBA degree candidate must qualify for an entrance examination MAT (Management Aptitude Test) With valid marks. Final admission is based on personal interview and merit basis.

Scholarships

ICFAI University, Sikkim provides merit scholarships to students studying UG and PG degrees. The scholarships are awarded based on performance in Class XII (or equivalent)/Graduation (or equivalent), as well as semester-by-semester performance throughout the course. Merit scholarships will be offered to up to 10% of the students in the batch depending on their semester-by-semester performance. These scholarships are in addition to those based on previous academic performance.
