Haldia Law College (HLC), one of the premier institutes for legal education in the state and the country, was set up in 2002. HLC Haldia forms a part of the Indian Centre for Advancement of Research and Education (ICARE) and offers a holistic legal education to students who study here.
At the undergraduate level, Haldia Law College, Haldia currently offers an integrated BA LLB honours program that is 5 years in duration and LLB program that is 3 years in duration. Students who have successfully completed their 10+2 examination and have scored 45% (for general category students) and 40-42% (for SC/ST or OBC category) are eligible to apply for the LLB, and BA LLB degree. HLC Haldia is affiliated to Vidyasagar University, West Bengal. They have also gained recognition and approval from the Bar Council of India (BCI). They are also recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC).

There is a well-stocked library on campus, moot court at the Mahatma Gandhi Moot Court Hall, air-conditioned classrooms, large auditorium and a Wi-Fi enabled campus. HLC Haldia admissions are conducted both online and offline, where the forms for offline mode can be downloaded from their website, and need to be posted after they are filled in. Admission Procedure
Haldia Law College, Haldia offers undergraduate B.A. LL.B, LL.B that last 5 and 3 years and LLM programmes, of 2 years, respectively. To be eligible to apply for the law courses, candidates must have at least 45% in 10+2 examinations from a recognised Higher Secondary board (40% for SC/ST candidates). To be admitted, OBC students must have an overall 10+2 score of 42%. Applicants for LL.B must have a graduation grade point average of at least 45% (40% for reserved candidates). The admission process is both online and offline. For the offline procedure, the offline application has to be downloaded, filled and posted to Haldia Law College, ICARE Complex.

Placements
Placement training and internships are provided to the students by the placement cell organised by the Haldia Law College, Haldia. Companies recruit several students as legal representatives and consultants and officers. Many law firms and companies recruit students from HLC Haldia as well. Comapanies such as AZB, Tata and ICICI have participated in the placement drive.
