Greater Kolkata College of Engineering and Management (GKCEM), Baruipur was established in 2008 as a part of the JIS Group Educational Initiatives. With the aim of training world-class professionals in the fields of engineering and technology, GKCEM Baruipur strives to create a dynamic learning environment with strong mentoring and broad exposure to industry and society in which students can strive for success.
GKCEM Baruipur is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and affiliated to the Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT) and West Bengal State Council of Technical and Vocational Education and Skill Development (WBSCTVE&SD).
GKCEM Baruipur offers 5 undergraduate (UG) and 2 diploma (DIP) courses. The UG courses are B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, and Computer Science and Engineering; while the diploma courses are in Electrical Engineering, and Electronics and Communication Engineering. The Training and Placement Cell of GKCEM Baruipur provides pre-placement training as well as arranges for internship and placement opportunities at reputed companies like Mindtree, ITC Infotech, Infosys, IBM, Genpact, Capgemini, Amazon, Cognizant, and many more. GKCEM Baruipur Campus spreads over an area of 10 acres and provides multifarious facilities for the overall development of the students.
GKCEM Baruipur has a centralized Library housing more than 26000 volumes of books of over 2000 titles. Members can also access multiple e-journals in the Digital Section of the Library. The students at GKCEM Baruipur are accommodated in separate hostels for boys and girls. Recognising the importance of games and activities, GKCEM Baruipur facilitates various sports activities in the large playground within the Campus. The students can also avail the well-equipped indoor gymnasium present at the Students Activity Center, along with facilities to practice Yoga. The classrooms at GKCEM Baruipur are spacious and adequately equipped to facilitate the teaching-learning process. Seminar halls with audio-video and digital teaching facilities are present on the Campus. There are 74 course-specific laboratories and multiple workshops like the Electrical Workshop, Machine shop, Electronics Workshop, Computer Workshop, Carpentry Workshop, Welding Workshop, Foundry shop and Fittings Workshop, which the students can avail for practical work. GKCEM Baruipur provides an on-call Medical Unit and also has a sick room. GKCEM Baruipur also provides transportation facilities from the Baruipur railway station to the College Campus.

Admission Procedure
Greater Kolkata College of Engineering and Management, Baruipur follows an online application process. The candidates need to register themselves and fill in the necessary details following which the payment needs to be done once they receive the admission offer. The candidates must have passed their 10+2 board examinations from a recognized board in India and must have had Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects. The candidates should have qualified for West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations (WBJEE) or Joint Entrance Examinations (JEE Main) for B.Tech admissions.
