The Central Library of GU, Guwahati consists of 2,78,107 Volumes of books, 5,623 thesis books, 7,601 dissertations, 4,500 manuscripts, and 34,495 bound periodicals Separate hostel facilities for boys and girls are allotted in individual dorms. Guest houses are also available within the campus. The GU, Guwahati Stadium serves as the primary venue for major sporting events. This stadium has a viewing gallery with a seating capacity of 1500 people as well as state-of-the-art lighting for nighttime activity. Amongst sports, there are 3 Numbers of outdoor Basketball Courts with lighting provisions, the indoor stadium has two numbers of Badminton Halls with international quality floor mats, one lawn tennis court, and three volleyball courts. The university has a large and well-equipped Gymnasium Hall, as well as a mini-Gymnasium Hall on the Girls' Hostel Campus. Both gyms are well-equipped with necessary facilities such as treadmills, weights, and other modern infrastructure, as well as 5 sets of competition weightlifting sets. Computer labs, language labs, and other departmental labs are present on the campus. Cafeteria and canteen facilities are also present. Arts Canteen, Food court, and house canteen facilities are present. Gauhati University has its own Hospital that serves in times of emergency.
