About NCHMCT JEE 2023
The National Council for Hotel Management Joint Entrance Examination (NCHMCT JEE) is a nationwide entrance exam in India administered by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on behalf of the National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology (NCHMCT). NCHMCT JEE serves as the entrance test for admission to the Bachelor of Science (Hospitality & Hotel Administration) program offered by various participating institutes throughout the country. The affiliated institutes of NCHMCT provide the B.Sc. (Hospitality & Hotel Administration) degree, which is recognized by Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi.
Previously, the NCHMCT JEE exam was conducted by the National Council of Hotel Management and Catering Technology (NCHM & CT), an autonomous body under the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, until 2018. However, starting in 2019, the responsibility of conducting the exam was transferred to the National Testing Agency (NTA).
The scores obtained in NCHMCT JEE are utilized by Institutes of Hotel Management (IHMs) for their admission process. There are approximately 21 central IHMs, 25 state IHMs, 1 PSU IHM, and 27 private IHMs affiliated with NCHMCT that offer B.Sc. (HHA) courses, and admission to these programs is based on NCHMCT JEE scores.
The exam consists of 200 multiple-choice questions and is conducted in both English and Hindi languages. The total duration of the exam is 180 minutes. The application process is conducted online, and the exam itself is computer-based. For each correct response, four marks are awarded, while for each incorrect response, one mark is deducted. Unattempted questions do not receive any marks, and there is no negative marking for non-MCQ questions.
The NCHMCT JEE exam is conducted once a year, and aspiring candidates need to stay updated with the official notifications and website for the latest information. They must also carefully study the instructions provided in the information bulletin, which is available on the NTA website: https://nchmjee.nta.nic.in/information-bulletin.
