About GUJCET 2024

The Gujarat Common Entrance Test, commonly known as GUJCET, is an entrance examination conducted by the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSEB) for admission to undergraduate courses in engineering, pharmacy, and other professional courses offered by various colleges and universities in Gujarat.

The exam is held annually in offline mode and consists of multiple-choice questions on physics, chemistry, mathematics, and biology. The duration of the exam is three hours, with 40 questions each in physics and chemistry, and 80 questions in mathematics and biology combined. Each correct answer carries one mark, while there is no negative marking for incorrect answers.

 

Eligibility Criteria for GUJCET 2024

The eligibility criteria for appearing in the GUJCET exam is that the candidate must have passed or appeared in the final year of the 12th standard or its equivalent examination, with physics, chemistry, and mathematics/biology as compulsory subjects. Candidates must also be Indian nationals and should have a domicile in Gujarat.

The application process for the GUJCET exam usually begins in March, and the exam is conducted in April or May. The ACPC will be releasing the GUJCET 2024 merit list in the following days, after the declaration of the results. The list will be formulated on the basis of the marks acquired by the candidates in the exam. The final merit list will be released taking into account any queries raised in the provisional merit list. The details regarding the merit list are given below: 

  1. The first merit list will contain the names of those who have appeared in the GUJCET exam. The merit list will be created based on the 60% weightage of the marks gained in PCM and the 40% weightage of the percentile marks obtained in the GUJCET exam. 

  2. The second merit list for the GUJCET 2024 will involve candidates who have given the JEE Main exam. The list will be formulated with the 60% weightage of the marks obtained in PCM after it is converted to 100 and the 40% weightage of the percentile marks obtained in JEE Main exam.
