About AAA 2024

The Ashoka Aptitude Assessment [AAA] is a comprehensive examination process that is designed to evaluate a candidate's academic and intellectual potential as well as their suitability for the interdisciplinary and liberal arts education provided by Ashoka University. The Ashoka University admission test is designed to evaluate a candidate's overall potential, academic abilities, and personal qualities. The candidates are required to take the ‘On-Spot-Essay’ test and clear it right after the Assessment. The final decision will be based on both the AAA and the easy writing test. It is a rigorous examination process that seeks to identify candidates who are intellectually curious, open-minded, and committed to learning. The university offers B.A/B.Sc programmes where students can choose a major from a set of 9 pure or 8 interdisciplinary subjects. In addition, candidates can choose two co-curricular courses and a minor (optional) from a range of disciplines. Ashoka University also offers graduate degrees such as M.A and M.Sc in the fields of arts, science, liberal studies, etc. Candidates seeking admission must fill out the application form, appear for the written essay test followed by an interview which will decide whether they are eligible for admission.

 

AAA 2024 Important Dates

 

The application process for AAA 2024 intake started in the month of 11 October 2024 and will continue till the month of May 2024. The procedures will be followed in 4 rounds before closing the admission conducts.

AAA 2024 Application Procedure

 

The application procedure for the Ashoka Aptitude Assessment (AAA) is conducted online and can be completed by following these simple steps:

  • Registration: Candidates need to register on the official website of Ashoka University by providing basic details such as name, email ID, and mobile number.

  • Login: Once the registration is complete, candidates need to log in using their email ID and password.

  • Filling out the Application Form: Candidates must fill out the application form by providing personal and academic details, selecting the preferred program, and uploading relevant documents such as a passport-sized photograph and signature.

  • Payment of Application Fee: After filling out the application form, candidates need to pay the application fee online using a debit/credit card or net banking.

  • Submission of Application Form: After successful payment of the application fee, candidates need to submit the application form. They must take a printout of the application form and keep it safe for future reference.

  • They must also ensure that all the information provided in the application form is correct and matches the documents submitted. Any discrepancy may lead to the rejection of the application.

 

AAA 2024 Eligibility Criteria- Undergraduate programmes

 

To be eligible for the Ashoka Aptitude Assessment (AAA), candidates must meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • Age Limit: There is no age limit to apply for the Ashoka Aptitude Assessment.

  • Educational Qualification: Candidates must have completed or be appearing in their final year of class 12th or equivalent examination from any recognized board in India or abroad.

  • Minimum Marks: Candidates must have scored a minimum of 50% marks in class 12th or equivalent examination. For candidates from the SC/ST category, the minimum mark required is 45%.

  • English Proficiency: Candidates must have a good command of the English language, as the exam is conducted in English.

  • Ashoka University's Eligibility Criteria: Apart from the criteria as mentioned earlier, candidates must also fulfil Ashoka University's eligibility criteria for the specific program they wish to apply for, i.e. through elucidating their intention and goals for joining Ashoka University in the Statement of Purpose [SOP] and inserting appropriate information to acquire the Letter of Recommendation [LOR].

It is important for candidates to carefully read and understand the eligibility criteria before applying for the Ashoka Aptitude Assessment. Candidates who do not meet the eligibility criteria will not be considered for admission, even if they have appeared for the exam and scored well.

 

AAA 2024 Eligibility Criteria- Postgraduate programmes

 

To be eligible for the Ashoka Aptitude Assessment (AAA), candidates must meet the course-wise eligibility criteria for the following disciplines:

  • Biology: Candidates must complete their B.Sc in Natural Science with a minimum of 55% or a GPA of 7/10. This program is open to candidates who hold a Bachelor's degree in Biology, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Pharmacy, Veterinary Sciences, Agriculture, BE, or BTech, depending on their respective discipline, under the 10+2+3/4 education system. 

  • English: For students from Indian universities, the minimum required percentage to apply for the program is 55%, while for students from foreign universities, a GPA of 3.0 or its equivalent is necessary. While having an undergraduate degree in English may offer an advantage in transitioning to the master's-level study of English at Ashoka University, it is not a mandatory requirement for admission to the program.

  • Economics: Applicants interested in the MA in Economics program must possess a recognized undergraduate degree in any field. It is not mandatory to have an undergraduate degree specifically in Economics to be eligible for this program. Ashoka University graduates who have completed the Economics major or the interdisciplinary Economics and Finance major will be eligible for direct admission if they have a CGPA of 3.6 or above.

Ashoka University will absorb the eligible candidates on the basis of their aptitude examination of the candidates willing to be part of their undergraduate and postgraduate programs through AAA. 

 

AAA 2024 Syllabus

 

AAA is not the toughest of exams and the syllabus is designed in such a manner, which shall elevate the aspirants thinking capacity and overall psychoanalytical development. The syllabus for the first section is Numerical abilities- till class 10 level components- Academic integrity and research ethics, Responsible conduct of research, and Statistics. 

The second section consists of writing an Essay about the prompt given at the moment of the examination. 

 

The syllabus for M.Sc Economics involves Statistics, Analytical Reasoning, Economics, and Mathematics

 

AAA 2024  Examination Pattern  

  • AAA 2024 is a 90-minute computer-based examination. 

  • The test will have two sections. The first section is mandatory for all applicants. It will test their general aptitude, basic analytical skills, understanding of academic integrity and ethical practices in research, and statistical literacy. It assesses a candidate's logical reasoning, quantitative reasoning, and reading comprehension abilities. 

  • The test consists of multiple-choice questions that evaluate a candidate's analytical and problem-solving skills. 

  • The on-the-spot essay is a 30-minute written exam as the second section and is mandatory for the applicants giving the first section. This evaluates a candidate's ability to articulate their thoughts and ideas in writing. The candidate is given a prompt and asked to write an essay on the topic within the given time frame.

 

AAA Results 2024  

The results for UG admissions will be declared in four rounds in the flow of dates in the following course of time:

  • Round 1-  24 January 2024

  • Round 2- 22 March 2024

  • Round 3- 14 June 2024

  • Round 4- 10 July 2024

 

The decision notification for Postgraduate programmes will be announced as follows:

  • M.A English- May 2024 (TBD)

  • M.A Economics-  June 2024 (TBD)

  • M.Sc Biology- 07 - 30  June 2023

 

AAA 2024 Outcomes  

After clearing AAA, the admission process includes an application review, a critical thinking test, an on-the-spot essay/ entrance examination, and an interview. The critical thinking test assesses a candidate's analytical and problem-solving skills, while the on-the-spot essay evaluates their ability to articulate their thoughts in writing. The interview assesses the candidate's personality and communication skills. In addition to the critical thinking test, on-the-spot essay, and interview, the Ashoka University admission process also involves a review of the candidate's academic records, extracurricular activities, and statement of purpose. The statement of purpose is an essay in which the candidate outlines their academic and personal goals and how attending Ashoka University will help them achieve those goals.

The academic records, extracurricular activities, and statement of purpose are also reviewed as part of the admission process. The university seeks candidates who are intellectually curious, open-minded and committed to learning.
