College of Engineering, Guindy (CEG), located in the heart of Chennai, was established in the year 1794 as a School of Survey. Over 60 years later, in 1858, it was turned into a Civil Engineering School. One of the country’s oldest institutes for engineering students, it offers quality education to those who pass through its halls.
College of Engineering, Guindy offers a variety of undergraduate and postgraduate degrees covering the various areas of engineering. For undergraduate students, the available options are Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering, Geoinformatics, Mechanical Engineering, Material Science and Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mining Engineering, Printing and Packaging Technology, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Biomedical Engineering and Computer Science and Engineering; as well as B.Tech. in Information Technology.
College of Engineering, Guindy is affiliated to Anna University, Chennai. They have also been recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC), the Association of Indian Universities and the Association of Commonwealth Universities. The courses offered are also approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).
Students have access to a well-stocked library, fully furnished labs, air conditioned smart classrooms, a spacious auditorium and campus-wide Wi-Fi. There are separate boys and girls hostel facilities available on campus, as well as a sports complex, and round-the-clock medical facilities. The cafeteria on campus serves hygienically prepared meals as well.
CE Guindy conducts online college admissions. To apply, candidates must access the online admission form, fill it up and upload all relevant documents. Once the applications are complete, merit lists are published on their website. Candidates who are on the merit list have to then download their counselling call letter and attend their counselling session. Admissions are given on merit basis and students who have completed their 10+2 school leaving exams are eligible to apply. Specific courses have other detailed eligibility criteria. A significant number of scholarships are available for students who come from economically weaker backgrounds. These scholarships are given on merit-basis

Admission Procedure
College of Engineering, Guindy offers online admission procedure based on the merit scored out of 200. The selected candidates according to the merit list, are required to take the councelling.The candidates are requested to visit the Tamil Nadu Engineering Admission website for admission related information.
CE Guindy provides students with undergraduate degree like Bachelor of Engineering (BE) and Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) with multiple specialisations applying to which the candidates should have required marks in their 10+2 examination from a recognized board.
College of Engineering, Guindy also offers postgraduate degrees like Master of Science (M.Sc), Master of Technology (M.Tech), Master of Engineering (ME) and Master of Business Administration (MBA) programs with several disciplines. For M.Tech / M.E degree candidate must have completed graduation B.E/E.E/M.E/C.S.E/ B.Tech degree or engineering degree in relevant field along with qualifying marks in Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET) or Graduation Aptitude Test of Engineering (GATE).
Faculty
College of Engineering, Guindy has had a reputation of having excellent teaching and non-teaching facilities and still lives up to that. The college also invites visiting guest faculties for better exposure for their students.
Placements
The placement cell of College of Engineering, Guindy is under the guideline of CUIC which provides internships and industrial training to the various departments. Over 4500 students from UG/PG programs participate in campus placement and internships, as well as development activities in university departments. The various companies that have recruited students from the campus are Accenture, Morgan Stanley, Murugappa Group (CUMI), Protiviti Global, Altair Engineering India, and many more.
