Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra boasts state-of-the-art infrastructure and facilities for the overall development of the students. BIT, Mesra Library is facilitated by LIBSYS and OPAC technologies with a vast collection of printed texts, as well as a digital section with a separate internet facility, CD-ROM database and web-based OPAC.
The students are accommodated separately in 11 boys’ hostels and 3 girls’ hostels. The hostel facilities include dining halls, reading rooms, entertainment halls with televisions, independent mess halls, and common rooms with provisions for indoor games.
Numerous sports facilities are available inside the Campus to help the students maintain a healthy lifestyle.
The academics at BIT, Mesra is carried out in classrooms and more than 65 course-specific laboratories. The laboratories are equipped with cutting-edge technologies and equipment which are constantly updated. There is also a Central CAD Facility and a Central Instrumentation Facility available for the students. The Campus is also equipped with auditorium facilities.
BIT, Mesra Campus houses a shopping centre for the 5000 residents and includes restaurants, salons, stationery stores, tailors as well as places to hang out.
The medical facility at BIT, Mesra is well-equipped with several facilities. The BIT, Mesra Dispensary is a fully functional Health Care Centre. It includes 20 beds with 2 isolation wards of 8 beds and is open round-the-clock. There are facilities for OPD, IPD as well as emergency cases. There are 5 Allopath doctors, 1 Homoeopath doctor and 20 paramedical staff as well as visiting specialists who include a Dentist, a Physiotherapist, an Eye specialist, a Skin specialist and a Gynecologist. Four ambulances are available 24x7 and are fitted with oxygen cylinders and first aid kits. Other medical facilities include an X-Ray unit, ECG unit, Dressing unit, etc.
The shuttle services at BIT, Mesra include 9 buses that run on scheduled timings along with multiple four-wheeler vehicles and trucks. Additional services include banking facilities and 3 ATMs.
