Bharathidasan University (BU), Tiruchirapalli is one of the reputed autonomous universities in Tamil Nadu that was established in 1982 and is named after the eminent revolutionary poet in Tamil Nadu Bharathidasan. BU Tiruchirapalli's goal is to promote scholarly, scientific, and critical inquiry among pupils in efforts to progress knowledge boundaries and enhance and elevate them as citizens of the state, nation, and world by providing nationally and internationally competitive learning and creative activity through quality teaching, research, and extension training programs.
16 Schools, 37 Departments, and 29 Specialized Research Centres are under the aegis of BU Tiruchirapalli. There are 263 faculty members serving 2564 students and scholars in the University. On the other hand, the University Departments/Schools offer 151 programs including 40 PG programs in various disciplines. There is an employment cell or a career guidance cell that assists the students with various issues regarding employment and also conducts training workshops on demand.
The faculties are skilled who are dedicated and committed to their duty of moulding the students into professionals as per the changing needs of modern society.
BU Tiruchirapalli provides four fellowships for research scholars. In addition, governmental financial aids are also accessible. For Ph.D. Programs there are "CSIR Senior Research Fellowship", "Kothari Fellowship", "Rajiv Gandhi Research Fellowship", and "University Research Fellowship".

Admission Procedure
Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirapalli, conducts an online admission procedure for postgraduate courses with numerous specialisations like as MA, MSc, M.Tech, MCA, B.Ed, M.Ed, M.PEd, M.L.Sc, and MPA. To apply for any of the courses, interested students must have completed their bachelor's degree with the necessary grades. The application form and the required documentation must be submitted by the students for verification. Final admission will be granted according to merit.
