Asansol Engineering College, Asansol (AEC Asansol), is a private engineering college in Asansol, West Bengal that is affiliated with the Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT). AEC Asansol was instituted in 1998 as a self-financing institute under the society of the Academy of Engineers, India. AEC Asansol is a University Grants Commission (UGC) and All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE)-recognised college and is headed by the principal, Dr. P. P. Bhattacharya.
AEC Asansol is situated on a sprawling wi-fi campus spanning nearly 17 acres and housing state-of-the-art facilities such as smart classrooms, two well-equipped AC seminar halls, a spacious amphitheatre, state-of-the-art laboratory facilities, a well-stocked library, a medical centre, cafeterias, indoor and outdoor sports facilities, and separate hostel accommodations for men and women.
Undergraduate programmes offered by AEC Asansol include B.Tech degree in nine specialisations, BCA, BBA in two specializations, B.Sc in Data Science and BIRM. AEC Asansol also offers postgraduate degrees such as M.Tech degree in two specialisations and MCA degree. Candidates seeking admission into AEC Asansol must meet the eligibility criteria of passing their 10+2 examinations from a recognised board in the relevant stream and subjects. Applicants have to appear for the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE) and the Joint Entrance Examinations (JEE) Main for the undergraduate courses, for M.Tech a valid score in Post-Graduate Entrance Test (PGET) or Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is required and for MCA the candidates are required to have a valid score in West Bengal Joint Examination for Masters in Computer Applications (WB-JECA), secure merit positions and attend the counselling session to qualify for admission into AEC Asansol.

The training and placement procedure organises external and professional industry interventions, interventions made by college professors with extensive training in their fields, webinars, and lectures on vital topics for the students. AEC Asansol also hosts, organises and participates in a plethora of extra-curricular and cultural programmes and festivals throughout the year. The College boasts an active student life with an NSS wing and student-led clubs such as the hardware club, science club, tech club, robotics society, photography club, cultural club, and coding club. Admission Procedure
The students who are seeking admssion to Asansol Engineering College, Asansol, have to secure merit positions in the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE) or Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main for applying in the B.Tech degree with various specializations. The candidate are required to complete their 10+2 examination with Physics/ Mathematics / Chemistry/ Computer Science/Electronics/Information Technology/ Biology/Informatics Practices/ Biotechnology / Technical Vocational subject/ Agriculture/ Engineering Graphics/ Business Studies/Entrepreneurship (Any of the three) obtaining at least 45% marks and 40% aggregate marks for the reserved category. The candidates are also provided with other undergraduate courses such as BBA in two specialisations, B.Sc in data Science, BCA, BIRM (Bachelor of Insurance and Rism Management). Applicants will complete the remaining requirements for admission on the college campus following the allocation of seats during counseling.
To be eligible for admission to the postgraduate courses candidates need to have a valid score in the Post-Graduate Entrance Test (PGET) or Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) for applying to the M.Tech degrees in Elelctrical Engineering and Electronics and Communication Engineering and for MCA degree the candidates are required to have a valid score in West Bengal Joint Examination for Masters in Computer Applications (WB-JECA).
