Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham’s Coimbatore campus comes from very humble beginnings, having started in 1994 in a little village in the Coimbatore district called Ettimadai, as a School for Engineering. It has since grown exponentially and today features 8 separate schools, namely Computing; Arts, Humanities and Commerce; Physical Sciences; Mass Communication; Engineering; Business; Agricultural Sciences and Social Work. The undergraduate degrees offered at the Coimbatore campus are BA in English Language and Literature, and Mass Communication; B.Sc. in Agriculture, and Food Science and Nutrition; B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer and Communication Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Automation and Robotics Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering (Artificial Intelligence), Computer Science and Engineering (Cyber Security), Electrical and Computer Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering and Electronics and Communication Engineering.
Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham was granted Deemed to be University status in 2003 January, giving them the authority to autonomously grant degrees. However, all the campuses of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham are recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). In addition to providing world class academics, the students here also have access to the best resources – an extensive library with print and digital resources, state of the art laboratories, air conditioned classrooms, a large auditorium as well as high speed Wi-Fi on campus. Students can also avail of separate boys and girls hostel facilities or opt for the bus service that ferries day scholars and teachers to and back from campus. The campus also features a huge sports complex, separate gyms for boys and girls, hygienic vegetarian food served in the canteen and cafeteria. The Amrita Dispensary on campus provides round the clock medical assistance to staff and students as needed.
Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham conducts online college admissions. All candidates must apply through the online portal on their website. Specific eligibility criteria differed from course to courses and discipline to discipline, however, passing your 10+2 school leaving examination is mandatory. For engineering degrees, students have to provide their JEE-Main scores or appear for the Amrita Entrance Examination Engineering (AEEE). Students from economically weaker backgrounds can also apply for scholarships and financial aid, which are awarded on the basis of merit and performance in the entrance exams.

Admission Procedure
Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham’s admissions are conducted online. To apply for their undergraduate degrees, candidates must meet all the required eligibility requirements of the course for which they candidate is applying. The candidate has to go through the admission portal created on the university website and send an application through it.
While the admission criteria and eligibility differ from course to course, all students must have passed their 10+2 school leaving test from a recognised board of secondary education. For Admissions to their B.Tech programs, they conduct a primary entrance examination called ‘AEEE’ or in some courses, they focus on the JEE (Joint Entrance Examination)-Main scores. Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham Coimbatore also offers a range of scholarships and financial aid opportunities for meritorious students from economically weaker sections.
Post-Graduate M.A., M.Sc., and M.Tech. programmes with different specialities are also provided by AVV Coimbatore. With this programme, students can improve their skills. MBA/PhD in MBA programmes are also offered by AVV Coimbatore. Students that are interested in the programme may apply. Final admission is determined by academic standing, entrance exam CAT/MAT/XAT/GATE/CMAT etc, and an interview.

The faculty at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham are highly qualified and have extensive research expertise from India's leading universities. They are quite approachable and act more as a guide than a teacher.
Placements
Over 90% of the students get placed every year in the leading companies like TCS, Accenture, Wipro, KPMG, Capgemini, Cognizant, IBM, INFOSYS etc. Some of the students also get a chance for internships every year as well.
Scholarships
Students are awarded scholarships based on their merit and admission interview performance at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham. There are two types of scholarships available to students: the 'Amrita Chancellor scholarship,' which provides a 100% tuition price waiver, and the 'Amrita Meritorious scholarship,' which provides a 40% tuition fee waiver.
