All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Bhopal was established in the year 2012 and is growing into one of the premier institutes in the country. The AIIMS Bhopal Central Library is currently being built and will effectively meet the various demands of its users. The provision of good volumes of books, a comfortable reading environment, and access to key biomedical databases together with online and print issues of the National and International Journal of Medical Sciences are all planned. The Central Library of AIIMS Bhopal will be equipped with top-notch library management technology, such as a radio frequency identification (RFID) system. The various services provided by the library are - Bibliographic Services, Circulation Services, Reference Services and Literature Review Services. On campus hostels are provided for both male and female medical and nursing students.
The hostels' operating mess serves four meals each day. Each level features a common area that is equipped with a television and wireless internet access. Facilities for indoor gaming are available at hostels. The land in the area has been prepared for outdoor sports like volleyball and cricket. The hostels are constantly guarded. There are separate hostel facilities for boys and girls. There are two hundred and sixty double-seated rooms for boys and one hundred and thirty-two double-seater rooms for girls. AIIMS Bhopal has made provisions for several indoor and outdoor sports facilities.
AIIMS Bhopal has facilities for football, cricket, tennis, basketball, volleyball, and an indoor gym. The gym is open to its students and has the latest pieces of equipment. The recreation room supports the various indoor games available on the campus. The labs are equipped with the latest technology and there are separate labs for each department. The Pathology Laboratory, Medicine Laboratory, Microbiology Laboratory, General Medicine and Biochemistry Departments have several laboratories which are used for research and academic purposes alike. The cafeteria on the campus serves healthy and nutritious meals to the students at minimal rates.
The medical team on the campus are always there for the students and any other medical emergencies that arise at the institute. The OPD services provided by the medical department are also extended to the students during medical urgencies. The institute is Wi-Fi enabled and the classrooms are fully furnished with ICT facilities. At AIIMS Bhopal, the auditorium is a stunning architectural structure. The viewer's gallery can accommodate 1000 people and is octagonal in shape. The auditorium's entrance is located to the north. The auditorium is next to an outdoor amphitheatre for outdoor events. Green rooms and a synchronised sound and lighting system are available in the auditorium.
