The 14th edition of ABP Ananda Sera Bangali celebrated nine achievers on a starry evening

The highest award for the evening — Serar Sera Bangali — went to entrepreneur Purnendu Chatterjee of The Chatterjee Group at ABP Ananda Sera Bangali 2018, partnered by The Telegraph, held at The Oberoi Grand on August 11. Chatterjee received the honour from Tollywood veteran and last year’s winner Soumitra Chatterjee. “I wonder whether I deserve this award as I am not used to getting awards like this, especially in front of such an august audience, so I feel very grateful.... The fact that around 5,00,000 people earn their living from Haldia Petrochemicals makes me proud and I feel, if my mother was alive today, she would have been proud too. I have faced many hurdles along the way but I am thankful to the people who created those as they have taught me to carry on.... We have to bring in collective diversity in our state and for that I believe we need the union of higher education, business opportunities and modern infrastructure. So let’s work together,” signed off Chatterjee.
