Freeze frame: Jessica Chastain, Shahid Kapoor, Jane Fonda
Jessica Chastain and Eddie Redmayne are in negotiations to star in the serial killer thriller The Good Nurse. The project is an adaptation of Charles Graeber’s book of the same name and it will be helmed by Tobias Lindholm, reported Variety. The film has been long in the making and Lindholm came aboard the project two years ago. The story is about the pursuit and capture of Charlie Cullen, a nurse who is regarded as one of the most prolific serial killers in history. If finalised, Redmayne, 36, will play Cullen while Chastain, 41, will portray Amy Loughren, a nurse and
Cullen’s co-worker, whose dogged pursuit helped end the killing spree.
At the trailer launch of Batti Gul Meter Chalu on Friday, actor Shahid Kapoor was asked if wife Mira will enter Bollywood anytime soon. She has appeared before the camera for an anti-ageing cream advertisement. “Jab woh press conference karengi, aap unse poochiyega. Aaj kal ki auratein apne mind ki hoti hai (Ask her when she holds a press conference. Today’s women have a mind of their own). They do what they like. And if you think I have any control over that, then you are very wrong!” Shahid joked.
Veteran actress Jane Fonda has announced that a sequel to her hit 1980 comedy 9 to 5 might happen soon. The 80-year-old star said her co-stars from the original — Lily Tomlin and Dolly Parton — will also be back for the sequel, Entertainment Weekly has reported. “My role is as an executive producer, and I’m working with the writers, with Lily, and talking to the writers,” Fonda told reporters. “Right now, Dolly, Lily and I are all intending to be in it.” Fonda said the new film will be slightly different from the original, which followed three working women who live out their fantasies of getting even with their company’s autocratic, “sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical bigot” boss.
