Dr. Rafiq Zakaria founded the self-supporting, Y. B. Chavan College of Pharmacy, Aurangabad (YBCCP Aurangabad) in 1989. It is situated on the sizable Dr. Rafiq Zakaria Campus in the city of Aurangabad, Maharashtra. The Trust bears the name of the first education minister of India, who pushed for the democratization of education. YBCCP Aurangabad bears the name of Mr. Yashwantrao Balwantrao Chavan, a well-known national figure who served as the first Chief Minister of the state of Maharashtra. AICTE and the Pharmacy Council of India, located in New Delhi, have both authorized the college, recognised under UGC, New Delhi's sections 2(f) and 12(B). As the first pharmacy research center authorized by the Maharashtra government, it has a unique status and is permanently linked with Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University.
YBCCP Aurangabad offers B. Pharm., M. Pharm, and Ph.D. degrees. Admission to YBCCP Aurangabad is done online, and the application form can be obtained on the website. YBCCP Aurangabad has a skilled and highly qualified faculty. YBCCP Aurangabad has the infrastructure framework to meet the AICTE and university criteria for education, administration, and amenities. It contains well-equipped classrooms with ICT capabilities, a lab and research facility that are both equipped, and facilities for the boys' and girls' common areas that are compliant with standards. The campus has sporting facilities for extracurricular activities, including Naval Tata Stadium and Millennium Sports Club, as well as a well-appointed auditorium and an outdoor theatre for cultural events. The college's library has been digitalized using LIB-MAN software, e-books, and e-journal subscriptions. The library has 15927 total books, including 3017 different titles, 600 e-books, 613 e-journals, and 32 print research journals. YBCCP Aurangabad provides scholarships, prizes, and medals to meritorious students. Y. B. Chavan College of Pharmacy, Aurangabad offers B. Pharm, M. Pharm, and Ph.D degrees. For B.Pharm admission, candidates must pass HSC(10+2) from any recognized board. The final selection will be based on the marks obtained in Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test. For M.Pharm admission, candidates must pass B.Pharm from any university/institute. Final selection will be based on the marks obtained in the Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test(GPAT) exam.
