Woodlands College of Nursing (WCN), Kolkata was commissioned in 1995 by Woodlands Multispeciality Hospital with the aim of becoming a patient-centric medical organization that provides the utmost care and an experience that would surpass the expectations of its patients. WCN, Kolkata is affiliated with the West Bengal University of Health Sciences and is recognized by Indian Nursing Council, New Delhi, and West Bengal Nursing Council.
Courses offered by WCN, Kolkata in the nursing department include B.Sc. Nursing with a duration of 4 years for female candidates who have reached the age of 17 years on or before 31st December of the year of admission and have cleared the JENPAS-UG entrance examination along with having the minimum educational requirement of 45% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and, English in 10+2. The second course in the nursing department is General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) with a duration of 3 years for female students who have reached the age of 17 years on or before 31st December of the year of admission and have cleared the ANM-GNM examination along with having the minimum educational requirement of 40% aggregate in all subjects in 10+2.
WCNK also offers paramedical courses with compulsory which are affiliated with the State Medical Faculty (Government of West Bengal). The following diploma courses are available in the paramedical stream-Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology [Pathology, Microbiology & Biochemistry], Diploma in Radiography [Diagnostic], Diploma in Cath-Lab Technician, Diploma in Dialysis Technique, Diploma in Critical Care Technology, Diploma in Operation Theatre Technology, Diploma in Electrocardiographic Technique, Diploma in Diabetes Care Technology, Diploma in Physiotherapy. These courses are 2 years long, with compulsory 6 months of internship post-completion of the degree. Candidates who want to apply must submit a certification proving their medical fitness, they must pass 10+2 with passing marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology, and, must attain the age of 17 on 1st September of the respective year of their admission into the course.
Students receive hands-on training regarding their specific field at reputed Hospitals in Kolkata and also have the opportunity to work at Woodlands Multispecialty Hospital. Placement is provided purely on the basis of merit and when vacancies arise at Woodlands Multispeciality Hospital.
WCN, Kolkata is equipped with nursing laboratories that provide students with the opportunity to hone their basic skills and advanced nursing skills by practicing on simulated mannequins. Paramedical course students at WCN, Kolkata get apt exposure to the most modern medical technologies and are imparted with the technical know-how of those technologies at Woodlands Multispeciality Hospital. WCN, Kolkata has a wifi-enabled green campus along with hostel facilities for B.Sc. nursing students.

Admission Procedure
Woodlands College of Nursing, Kolkata offers courses in UG and diploma in nursing. Applicants are required to pass 10+2 or any equivalent examination from any Indian University or duly constituted board with passing marks in Physics, Chemistry and, Biology. They are required to furnish a certificate of physical fitness from a registered medical practitioner and two references apart from their family or relatives testifying to satisfactory general character.
For B.Sc.admission at WCN, Kolkata candidates (only female) are required to clear the JENPAS-UG entrance exam conducted by West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEEB) on behalf of the Central Selection Committee (Nursing).
